Which one is better Vang Comp or Wilson. Is it a Ford vs Chevy deal or is their superior differences?
Vang, Wilson, Choate, Tacstar, DMW, Nordic and Tanks Rifle shop all go tube extensions and work well. The Tacstar and Wilson are on the heavy side. Some have their favorite but the fact is they all work well.
The new 870 shotguns have a 18.5" bbl and all of the ext above are made for the older 18" Remington bbl and will be 5/8" shorter than the muzzle and only offer 6+1 capacity.
I make a 7+1 tube extension for the newer 18.5" and it is even with the muzzle. It looks similar to the Choate tube extensions. You can use the factory mag tube clamp with it also.
I make non standard length tube ext for a lot of shotguns.
870, 1100, 1187 18.5" bbl +3 (7+1)
590A1 18.5" BBL +2 (7+1)
Moss 500 Breacher +1,+2
500 MilsGun 20" bbl +2
Moss 835 18.5" bbl +2
Moss 930 Breacher +1,+2, +3
Norinco 982 & H&R Pardner Pump +2 (7+1)
Here is a picture of the 870 7+1 tube ext on a new Express with a 18.5" There is plenty of room in the tube for 7 rounds. The extra 1/2" makes a big difference. It allows one more round in the tube.

Vang Comp was tricking out shotguns long before Wilson got into the game.

Remington factory is still the best.

I agree with Remingtons being the best available, followed closely by Tanks.
Wilson is over priced along with the rest of his shotgun add-ons.
