Ive been wanting to put a single point sling on my 1187P.
I 've been told the 870 GG&G plate mount will work on my 1187 and will probably go with that.
But Im not sure if I should get the HK mount:

Or get the larger mount:

Then the question of which single point sling to go with.
Advice?
Suggestions?
What works for you?
thanks

None of the above.
I've used single points, am issued a three-point (for my M4) and own a quick-adjustable Vickers Victory Model sling (economy-grade VCAS) which is by FAR my preference for any long gun.
I wear a long gun all day, every day and have for years. I have very little use for a single point.

Oh come on here Murph, you mean to tell me that you don't enjoy the bruised shins and swollen testicles? Where is your sense of adventure? No I agree though that the Vickers is the way to go. Tried the nut-buster single points VERY briefly and we get the same strapmaster 5000 sling for our M-4s too (although during the last SAV visit, they hinted that anything but the old silent sling that comes with the M-4 may not be authorized! ) and I still am sitcking with a Vickers on both my personal M-4gery as well as my M-4 at work. Besides, AFI's are just guidelines...right?:whistling:

The only place I'd use a single point is for a breaching gun.
How are you guys attaching them to CAR stocks? On the rear or a sling adaptor on the stock tube?

There's alot of reasons to bypass the single points. They are good for a very specific and single mission. Other than that, they suck... See swollen wee-wee comments above.
Quick adjustable two points are the way to go.

Revelations, I bought and used the GG&G single point plate on a Mossberg 590. It didn't last long. When you shooting using a proper grip your shooting thumb will impact against this plate. Remington grip fits a little further back, so this may not be a problem for you.
I replaced it with an attachment that connects with the trigger housing pin. Can't remember who makes it, but its worked out much better than the GG&G plate.
So when you buy the Vickers, you just get the sling? Its up to you to also buy their buckled attatchment points for the front and rear?

Edit: NVM gaytard moment.

Mine, being the Victory, threads on (fabric and buckle). Takes a few seconds and it's on nice and snug.

Want to thank everyone (especially MrMurphy, USMC03Grunt & Branspop) who gave me advice on here. Ive decided to stay away from the single point sling and get a good 2 pt.
A Vickers sling looks like the way to go for what I want. Just need to decide on which one and how Im going to attach it to the gun.
Im thinking GG&G front and rear mounting plates with a Vicker Padded Sling.
chance3290- Thanks for the post about the placing of the GG&G mount. I think I will be okay using one on my Remington as the grip is further back than the Mossberg.
