Okay, ordered my G33 w/ night sights today. Can't wait for it to arrive. (Like you all haven't heard that one before!)
Anyway, I am very new to the .357 Sig round. I remember reading up on it when it was introduced, but I don't remember many of the particulars. What I am looking for are the basics of the ammo. In other words, what is the standard loading (i.e. .45 ACP = 230gr.), what is the low power load and, of course, what is the "pushing the envelope" round.
I am not looking for reloading info, just standard mfg. information. Anyone who knows of a website that breaks down performance of the different loads, please tell me!
I hope that I was clear, but I'll soon find out.
Thanks and Semper Fi,
Mike

Cpl., I'm not aware of any mild loadings. There might be a small company offerring this loading. The most offered weight is going to be 125 grn. followed by 115 grn.I think S&B offers a 140 grn. FMJ practice round, also I believe Federal has a 150 grn HP round too.
If you want hot, I'd look at CorBon...their round are always alot faster than most compaines. I can't give you any numbers but I think you get anywhere from 100-200fps more from a CorBon 357.Sig load over the big three.
Me, I carry a G33 as a back up at work and I carry it alot off duty too. It's loaded with Federal 125 grn. HPs. I think this is the original load for the SIG round and that's what I'm sticking with until Remington has their GS more availible. I carry their 185 grn.+P .45 at work and it is a great load. I shot a Rottweiler about two weeks ago in the head and there was not much left!
I'm sorry I could'nt provide you with any hard numbers but there are many here who can.

I carry Speer GoldDot 125grain in my Glock 33. Comparative report indicate that this hollowpoint is the most effective after passing through auto glass. Many police shooting involve automobiles so, something the think about. This round leaves that short G33 barrel at 1350fps and over 500fp of energy-rather amazing. As usual, the Glock handle the recoil better than any other handgun. Have fired the same round in a SigP229 with a longer barrel and it was more abusive to the shooter.
Have always carried Corbon ammo in every other caliber. If over penetration is a problem (apartment builing, etc) the Corbon would probably be a better bet.
Corbon also offers a 115g .357 Sig-even hotter. Of course the nice thing about staying with the 125g is that most cheaper practice ammo comes in the caliber standard 125g. So, point of impact should be closer.
Thanks,
Blacksmith
I have both a SIG P229 and a GLOCK 33. Recoil from the GLOCK is much greater than the SIG, even with Speer Gold Dots, which are also my defense rounds. The G33 is not that bad though.

Thanks everybody. I think I'll go with the Federal 125gr. Hydra Shok for carry for now.
