WINGS 08-25-2008, 08:10 Hav-A-Heart trap, peanut butter. Drop spunky in the trap in a tub of water or use a CCI shotshell. You can also drive a few miles to a rural wooded area and release it. Trip the trap at night because the skunkie boys love peaunt butter too! Squirrels/rabbits/groundhogs, they all suddenly disappear when being watched by a predator. I'm not sure, but I have never seen any squirrels around after twilight. It seems like they disappear with the birds. Do they come out a night??? We get everything else, like raccoons, porcupines, skunks but no spunkies. Glockdude1 08-25-2008, 09:15 10/22 with a 30rd mag :agree: w/extra 30rd mags....... Cdr. Instigator 08-25-2008, 12:40 I've killed 7 squirrels in the past 2 weeks, using Daisy 880S http://www.airgunwarehouseinc.com/py-497.html 8 to 10 pumps and a pellet in the chamber is all it takes. Red dot sites for added accuracy at dusk. Snipers motto "One shot one kill"... One of those squirrels was hard to kill. After the initial tag and downed it took 6 pellets to put it out of it's misery. Even with 3 pellets to the head at close range it kept grasping for air.. It finally died. It was full of lead by the time I was done with it... Keep the rifle cocked and ready near the door or window over looking the garden.. Periodically check if you see any movement around the area, at the site of any movement, grab your rifle and aim, waiting for the little tree rat to show his neck... vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
