Just wondering what forms of ID are currently accepted for background checks for gun purchases. A friend is going to a gun show tomorrow and asked me what forms of ID were needed and it has been a few years since I have purchased any firearms so I thought I would ask GT. Also, how many forms are needed? Show is in VA, if that makes any difference.
I have been searching around but have come up with nothing.
Thanks!

Must have two forms, such as a Drivers Lic{VA} unless military, voter reg card Vepco bill some thing that established your address in the Commonwealth, Give a quick call to the Troopers or a local gun shop to verify
Drivers license and voters registration card is the best 2 options to cover all purchases in VA.

Drivers license and next best is a Virginia CCW permit. I always use my Check book, being as it has an established address on it. Beginners or new account checks don't work. Utility bill, Voters Registration all have worked in the past.
Two ID's are required. Both ID's must have the same address.
#1 Picture ID. Use your Drivers License. It must be at least 30 days old or a duplicate or reissue of a license held over 30 days.
#2 Secondary ID.Several choices:
Voter Registration Card
Vehicle registration
A check from your checkbook
Fishing or hunting license
Concealed carry permit
I have used all of the above. there are others that are acceptable but these are some of the most common. If military and no VA driver's license you need to take a copy of your orders showing assignment in VA and your military ID.
Key thing is, must be TWO forms of ID, and each must have the SAME address on it.
One may have to be a government-issued ID.
