Map,
I love mine to death also, softest, and most reliable shooting .45 I've ever owned. Modded mine w/ 3.5# trigger, .25 trigger job, Wolff steel rod & #22 spring, removed right side mag release, had approx. 600rds thru her 100% reliability. Owned NIBs Kimber, Colt, SpringField 1911s before, they were a joke in the reliability dept even after breakin :crying:

Congrats! The G21's are true shooters. I haven't fired the SF model but have handled one. Recoil actually seems less than 9mm and .40 cal.

what r the benefits of polishing your barrel, and is it hard to do?

no real benefit to the polish, I just like the contrast. It matches my Kimber. Polishing took about 1 hour with flitz paste and dremel, using the felt polishing wheels.
Yeah, I gotta say I love the magic. recoil with my G21sf pending on loads, is more like a slight bump, I'm comparing to the .40's I've had, where I think the .40 is more abrupt and snappy. But like I said I love the magic with my 21sf. On target, between shots. That's good stuff.

Congrats, G21 SF is a great pistol. I just received my double tap ammo order. Now I need to get to the range and try it with hot loads.

Congrats! Love the G21SF. Just shot 50 through one yesterday and I'm sold. I'm switching my duty weapon from a G22 to the 21SF. Right now, I'm thinking night sights, Glock rails, and ambi mag release.
Do they all have the ambi mag drop?
To AnotherGunFreak, I'm new to firearms and found out I'm really a big fan. Why did you remove the right-side mag release? Safety? Comfort? Just curious. What does the steel rod and #22 spring accomplish? Thanks.

1. right-side mag removal - comfort, keeps rubbing against my middle finger, and many glockers here also have complained about their ambi-mag release also digging into their middle finger. I am right handed, so no need for left handed mag release.
2. Stock recoil spring is #17, #22 spring reduce felt recoil, faster follow up shots, stronger lockup, handles hot loads much better. Many may not like stronger spring cause they may malfunction if shooter have tendency to limp-wrist, but I have tested atleast 450rds before I trusted it. Try shooting a 21SF w/ hot loads, +p compared to a 21SF w/ #22, and you'll see a difference right away. All of my Glocks w/ #22 must be reliable of atleast 300-400rds of standard pressure ammo in one shooting session before I can call it reliable.
I shot one handed, weak hand, side-ways, I could not get this glock to malfunction w/ #22 spring. All my glocks have Wolff #22 spring. I will trust any of my glocks as CCW or home defense gun when it has gone atleast 500rds w/o any failure, and so far all my G19s, 21SF, 45Gap have passed w/ flying colors w/ their #22 spring & wolf steel rod.
3. You can get 21SF w/o ambi-mag release.
All my glocks are not just paper punchers, they ride backup for hogs hunts also, my G21SF rode along on this hunt, and many times I've used 21SF w/ 230gr HP for backup w/o failure.

I love my G21SF!! I used it in an informal shoot last week and did well.
It's a hell of a combat weapon. I wish I could carry one on duty. Now I have to save up foir a G30SF!

I work for an armored truck company and have been carrying the 21SF since they first came out. I shot it for qualification for the first time today. Shot a perfect 300x300. The gun is stock. After today the only thing I would change is the slide stop. I was having problems activating it during the speed reloads and didn't like wasting the split second on using the "slingshot" method. Oh, one of my team mates was shooting an H&K USP .45, beat him by sixteen points. :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer a newbie's questions, and with such detail! It's hard to get people on the Internet to answer more than one question at a time. Thanks a lot, man!

I have been using my right hand index finger to activate the ambi mag release on my 21SF and have found that more comfortable than turning my hand on the pistol to get to the left side mag release. I wish I had a bit bigger hands though, the 21SF is still a tad big in my mits. But I love this pistol.

You must work for a small dept. You usually cant just switch your duty weapon at will like that can you?

There are three versions of the G21SF: ambi/Picatinny rail, ambi/Glock rail and non-ambi/Glock rail.

I am a really happy camper with mine. 21SF with ambi mag release/ Glock rail.
Over 1,000 rounds through it without any problems at all.
Shoots great.

In the future I would like to get one if I can shoot one first. Is the length from the trigger to the back the same as the 17/22 models. I held a 36 and the grip was not to thick but the trigger pull was just a little too long still. That is the problem I had with shooting a 21 the trigger pull length was not comfortable.

I love my 21 SF. Had it about three weeks, 300 down the tube. Smooth, great gun.

The SF models have a slightly shorter trigger reach than the non-SF models, but it is still longer than that of a G17.
