How to get rid of a single gnat.

So I'm hangin' out, getting my drink on, postin' on GT eatin chips, you know, guy stuff. Enjoying my Friday night, when this little bastard gnat, keeps landing on my computer screen and flying off, no where to be found. I randomly see him fly around past the TV, screen whatever. But I cant find this little bastard. Anyone know how to get rid of this bastard? Some bait or something, seriously, killing me here this Effer.

I see these guys out on the range all the time. If they're at 25 yards downrange or beyond, and I'm shooting pistol, I'll take care of it that way.

Anything closer isn't much of a challenge.

Half a cup of apple cider vinegar with a couple drops of Dawn, Joy or some dish washing liquid. The cider attracts him to eat, and the Dawn breaks the surface tension of the water so when he lands on the cider to feed, he falls in and drowns. I live next to woods and have a ton of gnats. I've emptied cups with seemingly dozens of dead gnats.

Good tip. Do you mix the soap and cider vinegar or just drop the soap into the standing cider?

I get rid of miller moths in a similar fashion. Liquid dish soap mixed with water in a dish pan or placed under a table lamp. Come morning it's full of dead moths.

I just drip a drop or two into the cider and give it a little stir. I've always thought too much detergent might change the scent. It hasn't taken much.

Traps are $1.99 at W*M.

The apple cider vinegar and dawn trick doesn't work well here for some reason but those hanging 1.99 traps were covered the next morning. Combine that with Black Flag gnat spray on the soil of your houseplants and down the drain/around the trashcan and they are DONE.

I had one buzzing me while I was sitting on the throne the other day.Just as the little SOB flew by my mouth I happened to take a breath through my mouth...sucked him right down my throat ! He got stuck about half way down.Started to gag, trying to hack it up.Finally finished my business,then washed down Mr. Gnat with a can of cola.
I now have a personal vendetta against rogue gnats ! A blast of hair spray will make them crash and burn !!!

You know that isn't really as funny as you might think. I was at the gunclub one time, and was being bothered my a wasp. The little bastard had the gall to land on the shooting box I was using as a rest, while I sighted in my S&W M29. I laid the barrel down on my box, and touched one off.

The wasp died alright, but now I have a nice scorch mark, and bullet crease on my box.

Would I do it again?
