I have the G27 but find it a little tough for my small hands. Does anyone have experience with the G23? I also have the G36 and find it easier to bring back on target than the 27. I think, maybe, I would like the G23. Has anyone experienced the comparison? I think I would like the G23. No place around here to test it unfortunately.
It also looks like the G30 would be easier to conceal. I just would like the power of the .40 or .45 with more rds than the G36 and a more comfortable feel than the G27.
Life is sooooo tough.

I usually buy the full sized glocks. Just bought a 22 last night. I think with the right holster an average sized person can conceal it just fine. Of the ones you mentioned i would def. get the 23 i dont care for the sub's they are a little too small for my hands.
i just added a 27 as a backup to my 23. The 23, to me, is almost a perfect all around size. It shoots MUCH nicer than the 27. But, obviously not as concealable as the 27.
I like having the ability to use the same mags/ammo/holsters also.
I did not get a 30 because I find the grip to be a little stubby and short to fit my hand.
I carry the G23 everyday. From the time I get up till I go to bed. Perfect size and caliber. I feel it is the best Glock period. I know alot will disagree, but that;s my opinion.

I owned a G27 for 15 years and bought a G23. I have to say I love the feel and capacity of the G23.
When I get to the range, the G27 Kicks butt on the G23 (as far as accuracy goes).
I still like to cary the G23 for the extra rounds and grip.
I would say get both. I am glad I did.

There are times when the smaller G27 comes in handy.

The 27 is tough for your small hands, so you're considering a bigger one? I think i'm lost...

I have big hands and love my G23, the babies are too small for me.
I love the G23. Highly recommend it. Great balance of firepower and concealability. I'm either carryin' that or a G17 everyday.
I highly recommend the G23!

I agree; that doesn't make sense to me either.
jmsfmtex: Are you saying you have a hard time controlling the recoil? Recommend you consider a +0 or +1 mag extension - works great for me!
Sounds like he is talking about the recoil of the 27 and the small gripping area due to the sub-compact grip. An option for your 27 would be a grip extension from Pearce or www.concealablecontrol.com The G23 does feel better too me also.
I have a G19 and a G26....the G19/23 is the perfect size gun,IMO. I love my G26 and it gets carried every day..The G30,IMO,will not be any easier to conceal than the G23.Its almost the exact same size but thicker..I got rid of my G30SF for the G26 and couldnt be more happier..I would just get the Pearce grip extentions for your mags and be done:wavey:
jms, subs are for guys with girly hands, get a compact or full sized man gun.

I have fairly large hands and I am more comfortable with my 27.I also have a 23 which makes my hands feel cramped for space. You just need to shoot the different sized frames and see what feels right for you.

I have the extension for the G27 but, how do I explain it, it just does not feel that I have total control when I fire it. When I shoot the G36 I feel more in control. It is like having a cup of coffee with a small handle. You can hold it and drink from it but it does not really feel solid in the hand. It is difficult, as you can see, for me to explain.
I am going to see how the G30, G30SF and G23 fit my hand before my next purchase.
Thanks for your responses.

HAve you tried using a G23 mag with a spacer? I would go with a G23 of your choices only because same ammo you can use the mags in your G27 and you can use the holsters for the G23 with your G27.

The G23 is nice. I would not give up your G27 to get one though as you will more than likely miss it for its concealability.
Save up, and add the G23 to your collection. NEVER trade a Glock in for another Glock. Always add.

My G27 has the pearce extensions on all my magazines. It feels fine until I do some rapid firing,(like a fast 5), then it starts to want to creep up in my hand. The G23 is the same size as the G19 and I definately love the feel of my G19. But you said you wanted .40-.45 power. They do make several serious loads for the 9mm these days, if that makes you feel better about 9mm power, plus the added capacity. As for the G30, it is in between the G27 and G23, size wise, but feels closer to the G23. The G27 will conceal better than the others. I like my G27 and G30, but the G19 really feels good to shoot. I don't have a G23, because I feel I'd need to trade one of my .40's away to justify it's purchase. The G30SF might be the perfect fit for you, but I didn't feel enough difference between it and my G30 when I bought the G30, to justify trying to find extra mags for the SF, as the G30 mags seemed more readily available in my neck of the woods. Good luck on your search for your new carry gun. But, whatever you do, don't ditch your G27. The G27:rock:

I have sold way too many guns in my life and vow never to do it again. I regret each and every gun I have sold. My collection will go with me to the grave.
I have e-mailed my dealer to see if they have the 30, 30sf and 23 in stock. If so I will go and try to see how each feels in my hand. From that I will select which one to get. I love the conceal ability of 36 and 27. I guess I am just looking for an excuse to get another Glock.
Thanks for all the replies.

The G30SF uses the same mags as the standard G30..I had bought an extra mag when I purchased it at the gun shop and it functioned as the mags that came with it...and side by side they were identical.

My bad I guess. I'd heard that G21 and G21SF mags were different as well as the G30 and G30SF.

I thought the same, but the guy that ran the shop said they were the same and sold me a standard G30 mag and it worked great.
Call me a wussss but I don’t like shooting factory .40 in the 27. Then again, I don’t care for the recoil from the 23 either. For me, in .40 cal, I much prefer the 22 or 35. I shoot my 9mms much better than any .40 cal platform, but that is just me. Hopefully, you can locate a buddy with one and see how they feel to you.

I have one of each. If I could design my own glock it would have a 27 grip with a 23 barrel and slide.
My hands are on the small side and I find the 27 grip with an extension to be perfect. Maybe better than the 23.
I'm even thinking of getting an extended ported barrel for the 27.
I posted this as a reply... still looking for suggestions
First, for my purposes the 27 has turned out to be the ideal handgun for me in nearly every situation. I use it for EDC virtually exclusively. With the magazine extension I think I like the grip better than my model 23. For EDC I load it with the Remington reduced recoil SD ammunition because with full power ammo I find the recoil to be a little beyond my liking.
The one situation where I switch to the 23 is when my hunting and fishing habit puts me in Black Bear country. Whit the 23 I can control the .40 no problem even with full power .40 ammo and the extra velocity from the extra 5/8 inch
What I’m thinking is that I could trade the 23 for something and get a Lone Wolf ported barrel for the 27 for ‘field carry’.
Has anyone compared a 27 with a extended ported barrel to a 23?
Recoil controllability?
Practical Accuracy (how much do I lose due to sight radius)?
Muzzle velocity?
My first Glock was a G27.
My second was a G23.
I love 'em both. The G23 is without a doubt easier to shoot well, and the G27 conceals better.
