View Full Version : High Noon Bare Asset Holster Captains1911 08-23-2008, 22:15 Considering one of these, any input? ab4ka 08-23-2008, 22:48 Great little holsters, good quality, can't beat the price. High Noon is great to deal with. Captains1911 08-23-2008, 22:49 How about the Mr Softy, it isn't canted, does that make it a little smaller? ab4ka 08-23-2008, 23:16 They are exactly the same size, just one is canted and the other is straight. I had the canted model. calgun1 08-24-2008, 00:29 I have the canted model for my G27, nice little holster but it rides a little higher then i like. My Don Hume iwb rides a bit lower so it's my preferred carry holster. VanguardMP 08-24-2008, 09:00 Between my wife and I we have both holsters for the 1911's. I also have a Bare Asset for my G27 and one for my Kahr PM9. This is what I've noticed: Both holsters are good and are definitely worth the money. I kind of like the Mr. Softy a little better because it sits lower in the waist band. It doesn't have a cant to it, but for me it usually sits at a little forward cant which is perfect. I really like carrying my wife's Kimber UC II with it. The Bare Asset I have for my G27 tends to cause the rear of the slide to print just a little. I have to wear it mostly at the 4:00-5:00 position. Both holsters are really comfortable and tend to ride well. They have an extra piece of leather around the mouth of the holster to make it stiffer and allow the opening to stay somewhat open. I can still do one-handed reholstering with them. The leather construction is very thin and will mold a little bit to you the more you wear it. These are very comfortable holsters. I can't really think of anything bad to say about them except the black paint on the clip will eventually chip and some may wear off, but not the whole thing. Only around the edges basically. This doesn't bother me, but I wanted you guys to know that just in case this bothers you. The clip though is very strong and you do not have to worry about drawing the holster with your pistol. Highnoon Holsters has been excellent to deal with and they get their products to you within 2-4 days IIRC. VMP Great, thanks, I'll try the bare asset, I've been looking for an IWB holster for a while, but didn't want to buy one of those expensive elaborate ones. TENWHEELER 08-24-2008, 11:17 I have the Bare Asset for my G23 and for my Sigma .40. Pros: short delivery time, low cost, excellent customer service Cons: tends to ride a bit higher than I prefer (the only concern is if you have a "grocery tumor" or a bulge above the beltline) Overall it is not a $250 holster but it is a good holster for the money..... Babysinister 08-24-2008, 12:33 I've had previous experience with High Noon (I live in Florida) since I purchased a holster for my Sig P225 for them years ago. And I just ordered two Bare Asset holsters; one for each of my two Glocs (G19 and G30). ab4ka 08-24-2008, 14:36 A great holster I just discovered for my G19 is the Desantis "Dual Carry". It has a leather loop on one side for belt carry, and a clip on the other for IWB. I've found that I can carry my G19 IWB where since it sticks down a little further, where I can't carry my G26 that way. This is a nice holster and I think it was $31 at the shop (I got it as part of the deal with my G26). It might be worth looking into. Another thing I like about it is that it has a thumb break. I some folks don't like thumb breaks, but I do. Dandapani 08-24-2008, 14:46 I have purchased several holsters from HN! They are just down the road from me. Yes, please. Spend your money in FL. We need it!:tongueout::rofl::wavey: kurtiss 08-24-2008, 15:18 For the money, it works fine. It was my standby as my box of holsters increased until I found ones I really liked. FriscoCHL 08-24-2008, 15:28 I have one for my both my 26 and 19. i like them alot. They are very good quality for there price. They get my thumbs up. http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s218/9mmGuy/G26withstuff2.jpg vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
