View Full Version : G-23 question
Ok, may be a stupid question. I've did a search didn't find anything. Can you put a G-19 slide and barrel on a G23? 2nd gen.
I was under the impression, that the 23 was originally made with the frame and slide of a 19. I could be wrong.

You can, but the ejector may give you some problems.
This would solve those problems: http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=163682

the glock 23 has a modified slide so i don't think it would work.
Frame is the same but as above the ejector is different. Slide has the same dimensions but the hole in the end for the barrel is larger. To shoot the 23 slide with 9mm ammo you would need a conversion barrel...bore is 9mm but the outer dimension is 40.

I asked the same question to Glock this week. I was told that I could put the G-19 slide and barrel on but I could have ejector problems. I was told the the 23 has a different ejector the the 19. It looks to me that the link kelsitone posted would solove that problem.
.45 Guy,
You may use a G19 slide and barrel on any G23 frame. You should use 9mm magazines. If casing ejection is a problem you may have to install a 9mm ejector, which is quite different from a .40 ejector. You should never, ever use a 9mm ejector with .40 ammo due to personal safety reasons.
Wouldn't a Glock 19 slide have a 9mm extractor??
Never mind, I see, the ejector is part of the trigger assembly. Duh
Yes, a G19 slide has a 9mm extractor.
As you noted, the ejector is not in the slide.
