View Full Version : Well the waiting begins - G30SF!!!!!!
Went to my neice's wedding this afternoon in Baltimore, and on the way home I told the wife that I wanted to go by Bass Pro to do some shopping.
When she asked why, I told her that I wanted to compare the G30 to the G30SF. (I've been looking for them, but nobody had them in stock.)
Well, she said, "I didn't get you a birthday present, so, if you want a Glock. . . get it."
I almost wrecked the car! (j/k!)
She said, "You worked some Overtime this week, and we (the family) went to the beach and you worked. You earned it. Buy it."
The SF felt better in my hands than the G30 did.
Well. . I started the paperwork.
Maryland's mandatory 7 day wait is a real (dog).
My wife is a good woman.
BTW, Bass Pro at Arundel Mills has a BUNCH of G30 and G30SF (-1) in stock!
The G30sf is a sweet gun. I love mine! I'm sure you'll enjoy yours!

I sure wasn't impressed with the SF over the 30. The miniscule difference was not even noticeable. I think it's a gimmick that is being exploited. But, if it's free it's for me.

I just purchased the G30SF and absolutely love it! The frame size is just slightly smaller - I believe slightly in the overall circumference and also just a bit where the webbing of the hand (btw thumb and index finger) goes but it is just enough for me to have a better grip over the standard G30. It is also very accurate. I have put a couple rounds in the target center that actually touch each other.

Awesome! Noob question, does a number or something denote SF from a regular 30?

I thought that there 'just couldn't be' that much difference between the G30 and the G30SF.
There is!
I've got BIG 'ole ham hands, and the bottom 'hump' of the G30 hits me in the heel of my hands.
I also have a touch of arthritis, and that 'hump' just compounds the ache.
When the guy behind the counter asked me what I was interested in, I told him that I wanted to compare the 30 and the SF side-by-side.
The SF was THAT more comfortable (to me)!
So now this one makes three.
G21
G19
G30SF
If the G30SF shoots as well as the other two do, I'll be one happy old fart.
my wife is a good woman to, she told me to ask you if i can have your 30sf:rofl::rofl::rofl:
That, there is funny. I don't care who you are!
Congrats!!!! :cool::cool:

Sounds like it! :needspics:

i honestly cant keep up without a score card anymore...
I can use either or all and still paste the the 10 ring at 7, 10, and 15 yards though ;)

Sorry about that. Move up here to NH then. We are a shall issue state with CC permit costing 10 dollars for 5 years and it takes 14 days to get it. Also, we have no sales tax, no state income tax and our overall tax burden is the 46th lowest in the nation. We also have a very low crime rate and the state is beautiful.
My in-laws live in Potomac, MD.

I just got my 30SF and love it...it fits my hands better than my older 30 for sure...not as much difference noticed with the 21 SF.....but the 30SF does seem to.
