Man shot to death during Vallejo apartment holdup

(08-25) 16:53 PDT VALLEJO -- A Richmond man was shot and killed in Vallejo over the weekend during an apparent robbery, police said today.
August Mahondi McCoy, 34, was shot about 11:50 p.m. Saturday outside an apartment at 125 Power Drive, police Lt. Rick Nichelman said.
The incident began when two armed men forced their way into a different apartment complex at 1333 North Camino Alto with the intention of committing a home-invasion robbery, Nichelman said.
A struggle ensued, and shots were fired inside the complex, police said. The occupants scattered, and McCoy was chased down and shot, Nichelman said.
