Anybody know what I can use to get rid of bagworms? I can cut some off but others are too high to reach? Google gives varying answers. Anything I can buy at Home Depot/Lowes and spray on?
Also, Can I trim the lower 3 feet of my white pine trees without hurting them? I need to mow under them.

The only thing I've found to eliminate bagworms is to cut off the branch with the bag. I bought one of these:

And yes, you can prune your pine tree as much as you wish. Some say to wait either until fall. Some say spring. Some say anytime you want.
Personally, I wait till fall, unless I'm trying to correct some other problem with the tree.
Actually, pruning the lower branches of the tree will make it grow taller.

The only solution I ever found was to take the evergreen trees out entirely. I'm still glad I did it...

I sprayed bagworms with Raid last year. have to really spray the bag well. A couple applications will kill the little suckers.

First remove all the bag worms you can see and reach. I put them in a bucket and poured gasoline on them. Go to your local nursery and ask for a spray to kill the bag worms, I can't remember the name. This will completely solve your problem, it worked for me.

If bagworms are anything like the webworms we have down here, find wasp spray (the kind with 20 foot range), to hit the webs, combined with prompt trimming off of thickly webbed areas.
I see that "bagworm" is sometimes used to denote webworms, but also some other critters. Either way, wasp spray is pretty lethal stuff, (except for use on bees. DO NOT spray africanized bees with wasp spray). You might give it a try (but close your mouth when spraying up)
Are they bagworms or tent caterpillars? Two different animals with different ways of disposal.

The bag worms I know look like a tiny cocoon made of an extremely tough material that hangs from branches.

Sounds like Tent Catepillars to me...?
Up here in Maine they don't usually arrive until mid august, too late to really cause much damage to the tree since it is done blooming and getting ready to drop it's leaves anyway....
My usual solution on the trees in my yard is to use a garden hose with a jet stream and blast em out of their tent....takes a while sometimes but once you get a hole into it they don't last long.
