After waiting 9 weeks for my AA conversion kit, is showed up today. I took it apart to clean the barrel and noticed that there is barely a hint of rifling in it. What does your barrel rifling look like?
This stuff always happens to me after the business closes on a long weekend.:crying:
'barely a hint' would seem to desribe it well......go shoot it!

Fair enough. I just got off the phone with the Glockmeister himself and he said that it was totally normal.
Thanks

Hey all-
I just got a Advantage arms 22 conversion for my g19 and the first trip to the range was good - only a few failures to extract and a few failures to feed
today was the second trip and lots more failures to feed and extract
tried a field strip and clean but that did not solve anything
the feed ramp has a pronounced lip as the chamber is fully supported
has anyone tried to grind that down?
I figure that would cut down on the ftf
what have you guys found causes / cures the FTE's?
thanks

Here's a pic of the barrel from my G17/22 unit for comparison.
I would strongly suggest contacting AA prior to trying to fix it yourself. I've found them to provide great service, and I'm sure they'll fix you up!

I've got one for my G19 with about 1,000 rounds through it (maybe 1,500). I've had less than 10-15 failures. I have had ammo that it didn't like/wouldn't cycle, etc, but those were ammo issues and NOT a conversion kit issue. With the right ammo, I've had very few issues.
FTIW, Mine is locked away right now, so I can't check the rifling.
None of my .22 pistols look like they have any rifling...it's just barely there.

Mine is the same way with the rifling. I will suggest that you get some snap caps or the plastic dummy rounds to use when you pull the trigger to remove the slide from the frame. After a while of doing the normal way for a center fire slide the firing pin on the AA slide had created a divot in the edge of the chamber. Started causing a lot of failures to extract. I ended up reaming the chamber out to remove the material that had been pushed into the chamber by the divot. Now I use the plastic snap caps and have not had any more issues.
Good luck.

In the picture, you can see a small 1/2 moon cut-out on top of the chamber. Is that for dryfire/takedown to avoid peening the breech face?

Hey-thanks for the pic
my barrel is not that smoothly ramped
there is a definite step where the chamber steps down to the feed ramp
and the chamber does not have that small cutout at the top of the chamber like yours does
I will call AA tomorrow
thanks

What ammo are you using?
I found my AA kit to be very ammo sensitive. With ammo it likes functioning is almost 100% for about 1,000 rounds. With ammo it doesn't like you can't get more than 3 shots off without a failure of some sort. Then there is some ammo in the middle that just causes the occasional FTF.
Of found the best cure for problems with the AA kit is to clean it, lube it, and use the proper ammo.

I am using Remington Golden Bullets from the 550 Wallyworld bulk pack that others have had success with
I'll call AA and see what they do for me
thanks

I dont think it takes a whole lot of rifling to get a little spin on a 22. They were designed to shoot at short distances and I have not seen too many 22's, especially pistols, that had strong rifling.

That would have to be my best guess! It certainly doesn't appear to be firing pin damage to me, it's not peened, rounds slide in and out quite readily.
Here's a better pic:
