Pearce Grip should be +2 but I can only squeeze +1???

I just bought the Pearce "plus extension" for my 26 which is suppose to add 2 rounds (+2 for 9mm +1 for 40 or 357). Model PG 2733. But, I can only get +1 out of a +2 extension. I bent my quick mag loader trying to jam 12 rounds into a 10 round mag with +2 extender. 2/3 of my mags I was able to squeeze the 12th round in but it just didn't look right. The base plate was bowed and the mag required a lot more force to get it locked into the gun. Not to mention that 12th round was a ***** to get in.

If anyone has an idea as to why I was struggling getting the 12th round in let me know. I took the mag apart twice to make sure I was installing it right. And its one of the installations that's hard to mess up.

Your experience with the Pearce extension is not that unusual. It can be pretty tight, especially with a new mag.

Were you able to easily load 10 rounds before you added the PG2733 ?

My factory +2's are hard to get to full capacity when new.

Take a small dowel rod and work the spring 50 or so times. That should loosen it up a tad.

Ya, the mags have very little use on them and the 10 round was stiff.

I'd recommend living with 11+1 if you like the grip with the Pearce.

Exercising the mag spring with a dowel is a reasonable thing to try. Beats loading and unloading.

I put them on my 27 and never could get the 10th round in. Still liked the look and grip with those extensions though.
