I had Godfathers pizza for supper tonight, it had been years since I had had it. Back in the 80's it was my favorite pizza in the world. I don't know if it was just this store but it wasn't as good as back in the 80's:crying:

We had one here, but it closed around 1990 or so. Blast 08-30-2008, 00:30 Another good old pizza place that are few and far between these days is Pasquale's Pizza. They were the best in the '60's and '70's. I think there's two left in the Cincy area. ATL Peach Girl 08-30-2008, 01:00 So they are still around. I didn't even know they were still around anymore. Last I knew that chain went bankrupt.......didn't they??? :dunno: Okie maybe went to an independently owned one. Soujurn 08-30-2008, 01:04 Godfather's Pizza left these parts years ago. One of the older stores I saw the other day was Little Caesars. I didn't know they were still around. From the other thread, I'd have figured you were a hankerin' for some KFC instead of pizza. okie 08-30-2008, 01:16 I didn't even know they were still around anymore. I did but the pizza won out:rofl::rofl: florgy 08-30-2008, 01:18 Closest Godfather's to me is about 12 miles. It opened about 8 or 9 years ago and is the only one in the area. Their pizza is still pretty good though. On a related note, Little Caesar's is back in my town. There are now two stores, both on the southside. No delivery, but I don't mind the short drive for 'pizza pizza' and Crazy bread. Mr King 08-30-2008, 01:18 LaRosa's is the only pizza worth having in the Cincy area.:whistling: PeterJasonMN 08-30-2008, 01:28 There's one locally. They're one of the handful of stores around here that don't use real cheese. They use the water/oil based crap, so when it comes out of the oven it looks like the face of some kid with horrible acne. Blast 08-30-2008, 01:36 LaRosa's is the only pizza worth having in the Cincy area.:whistling: :alex:AHHHHH... LaRosa's is on par with Domino's... nasty. Pizza Hut is a step or two above LaRosa's. The best Cincy area pizza is Donato's by far. Then comes Pasquale's followed by Papa John's. :whistling: Soujurn 08-30-2008, 01:40 When they were still here, Godfathers had the best pizza in town. At least compared to the other chain stores like Pizza Hut and Domino's. There are a couple of little hole in the wall Mom and Pop Italian places that are supposed to be fantastic. But every time I think to go to one, they are packed and there is a line. Maybe I should make an effort to try 'em. ATL Peach Girl 08-30-2008, 01:46 Anyone remember Shakey's Pizza?? that place was to die for!!! seriously good pizza.....I recall it was NY style. DrMaxit 08-30-2008, 01:50 Geovani's pizza... done. But back to the regular chain, yeah seems like Little Ceasar is making a comeback with the drive throughs and quick pizza, so long as its either cheese or peperoni. Still good pizza though. Little Johns is going down hill, thats a fact. They used to be a sit down restaurant, now they are a cheesy (no pun intended) fast food pizza joint. BTW GodFathers used to be the SHEET down around so far as chain pizza joints go. Seriously, Damnit man. --Chuck florgy 08-30-2008, 01:58 Anyone remember Shakey's Pizza?? that place was to die for!!! seriously good pizza.....I recall it was NY style. :wow:Do I!! I'm afraid that as a young teen I had something to them going out of business from the number of trips to the buffet. My junior high football team used to hang out there during the lunch buffet after our Saturday morning games. We had a local joint called Tim's Pizza that offered that same kind of thin-crust pizza. They had a 36" pizza that could feed a small army. I really miss those joints.:crying: Geeorge 08-30-2008, 06:02 Another good old pizza place that are few and far between these days is Pasquale's Pizza. They were the best in the '60's and '70's. I think there's two left in the Cincy area. There are three of them here in Indy, just had a stromboli from there with a bud from grade school. We were like two 40+ kids while we ate them and talked old cars:wavey: Geeorge 08-30-2008, 06:04 Okie my favorite is still the Noble Romans deep dish sicilian, had one about a month ago, with my same bud from grade school. Mushroom, sausage, peperoni, and black olives, just like we ordered it back in the 70's:cool: okie 08-30-2008, 12:10 There's one locally. PBCounty 08-30-2008, 14:23 We only have them in gas stations. I've never tried it. It doesn't look too good sitting in the glass case with the heat lights on it. PeterJasonMN 08-30-2008, 14:26 That's kinda how my pizza looked:alex: Yup, wasn't real cheese then. The place by my mom's house serves that oil/water "cheese" stuff. I ordered a pie for pickup when I was on my way back to the spread one day. I got it in the car with the windows up and almost upchucked. It got to the point I almost threw it out of the car window./ Hines57 08-30-2008, 16:36 I had Godfathers pizza for supper tonight, it had been years since I had had it. It was like $12 at lunch time and the pizza was like Cici's. Bluch! bocephus549 08-30-2008, 16:38 I don't eat as much pizza as I used to. As far as chain stores I guess I prefer Pizza Hut. I love the personal pans cooked extra crispy. southernshooter 08-30-2008, 16:45 Does everybody have a Cici's pizza or is that just local in my area? $4.95, all you can eat. Batesmotel 08-30-2008, 16:51 I love my local Godfathers. It is run by some local pot heads. I go in late and they are so stoned that I will be given extra pizzas because they messed up or made to many. MarksGlock22 08-30-2008, 16:52 Does everybody have a Cici's pizza or is that just local in my area? $4.95, all you can eat. YUM I love CiCi's. Kedyn 08-30-2008, 21:56 Cici's is good, for a cheap buffet. I loved Godfathers. I'll have to go again sometime soon. Best pizza I've ever had was Waldo Pizza in Kansas City, Missouri. huskerbuttons 08-31-2008, 00:11 I agree with Blast. Donato's is the best pizza. The hoagies at Pasquale's Pizza in Bellevue KY are to DIE for! La Rosa's has went down hill over the past few years. Trigger_Rush 08-31-2008, 04:45 There's a Godfathers Pizza in Elemendorf AFB, Alaska. It sucks. Herb Twoleaf 08-31-2008, 05:13 Grew up on Straw Hat and Round Table but Straw Hat just tastes like frozen pizza these days. Hell I think Totino's tastes better. rj1939 08-31-2008, 06:43 I had Godfathers pizza for supper tonight, it had been years since I had had it. Back in the 80's it was my favorite pizza in the world.
