Hey, name's Mark. I'm a young shooter and I'm wanting to start shooting handguns more often, and soon enter competition. I own some rifles, the only handgun I own is a Star Model B in 9mm. My dad has a Glock 20, which is the only Glock I've fired.
I've decided on a Glock 32. I fell in love with the .357 SIG and I must have it. Even though thoughts keep invading such as the fact that with the .357SIG I'll be buying DT HPs for $280/ 500rnds, when I could buy a 19 and locally buy cheaper 9mm FMJ at $130/ 500rnds.... and the factor of added recoil, when I want to practice and compete and speed is needed.
But I've weighed the price difference and decided that I can save money elsewhere, and decided that recoil shouldn't be a problem, So what if I lose a fraction of a second, I'll better hone my reaquisition skills. I'm used to the 10mm anyway. I'm just way to set on the 32 and the .357 SIG to go back now. :)
Of course there's the option of a conversion to 9mm, BUT I decided I don't wanna bother since 1) I'd be paying for the conversion, 2) I'd be buying a second set of mags, 3) I want to shoot and get used to just the one round, and 4) I just plain want the phsychologic benefit and peace of mind, the power, the trajectory, and the attention-grabbing-goodness of the .357 SIG wherever I bring it.
Since I'm in Canada what I have to do is get someone to put a longer barrel on it since it's a stupid 0.12" too short. I've thought of trying to get one JUST long enough, but I like the look of those Silver Wolf barrels that are compensated, that I seen some people have on GlockTalk. So what other options do I have? I've heard good things about those already, but please feel free to give advice on a barrel for me. I'm hoping that Cabela's or Wholesale Sports will order the gun for me with one of those barrels installed already. It's really stupid we can't have the compacts as they are up here.
To make my setup even more unique out there and to improve my shooting, I like the idea of these sights that are advertised on GlockTalk - http://www.advantagetactical.com/tech/TechSpecs.php
I'm thinking either rear yellow and front red or rear white and front red.
