Range time with the G19! [Archive]

Hey guys, I went to the range today and took my son, yup the 19 performed 100% this is the first time I went out with my new 19! :supergrin:

Don't know where to post this question, but I always use ear plugs, but I wanted to get my son some "ear cups" they are rated at 21 decibels is this a good rating for shooting protection?

21 decible reduction is pretty enough to protect your hearing. I use a Silencio headset rated at about the same for everything from my Glock 19 to when I rock an M240. I can still hear fine, so I guess they work.

30's are much better and are made by several manufacturers, available from most vendors. 33's are the max.:cool:

I wear both. The foam plugs and a set of 30dB cups.

If I'm shooting inside, I use the foam plugs and earmuffs. If I'm outside, I just use the muffs. I happened to be at the range one day and they were selling some used sets (that looked like new) and I got a set of Howard Leight LM-77 earmuffs (28NRR) for $8:)

extra protection , I guess....

Good pistol, maybe the best of all the 9's anywhere....I use one, carry one, shoots great, and I just get better with it, every range visit.

Same here. I think my muffs are rated at 29.
