Hi, been away for a while, busy on this and that, hope everyone is fine. Any idea how can i get the rotation of my new zoom lens to turn smoothly? it aggravates me when i can hardly set the zoom as easy as it should, feel like the rotation parts inside is out of round, thanks in advance.

Being a big brand name, I'd contact the manufacture for warranty repairs.

Nikon? Well there's your problem right there. :tongueout:

Without feeling it myself, I think it would be hard to really say. I would get in touch with the manufacturer. :dunno:

How new is it? Where did you buy it from? You might get it switched out faster than having it repaired.

Oh well,i been a big fan of nikon cameras ever since those FM 35mm film cams were made,i love canon as well, my canon digit p&s S45 is a great cam but slr is what i am into now.the lens is a brand new demo item from cameta camera from new york, i had purchased a demo nikon d40 from them and it was a great experience with both camera and sales.they just informed me to sent back for exchange,,let see..the lens was made in china,,wonder if that goes to the account: : thanks a lot guys.

I've bought from Cameta several times over the years and have had a great buying experience every time. I'm sure they will take care of you. Their feedback on ebay is very high.

FWIW--All my CANON lenses are working great, very smooth.:supergrin:

Cameta will make it right. That said, the plastic lens bodies are either too tight and don't move easily or they have a large amount of 'zoom creep'.

Is it a refurbished lens?

Is it tight? Is it gritty or is it something else?

No, it was a demo item, the kind they keep in the retail store, you can not tell just by looking at it, i made a mistake when i packed my lens for return, i left my UV light filter on the lens and forgot to remove it,,,hope i will get it back but i doubt it.

Probably not but that is not as important as getting it fixed or replaced. Call them Monday and tell them you left the filter on. They might can grab it for you.

I bought my 24-60 from Cametta via Amazon. It was my first purchase with them so I wasn't comfortable going thru eBay with it even though it was a little cheaper. Based on your experience and how that order went, I am thinking they are as good as B&H.

My 24-60 came from them along with various other items, always have been good to deal with. My purchases from them have been through ebay.
