I was wanting to add a semi-auto street sweeper to my gun collection. Anybody know where I can look?

Kinda hard to buy a semi-auto street sweeper since that they were never made in semi-auto form.

Thanks guys. I wasn't sure if there was a semi-auto version of the Armsel out there.

wasn't there a kit that you could add to your shotgun and make it kinda like a street sweeper?:headscratch::dunno:

Yea, can't remember the name, it turns your mossberg into a magazine fed monster, and adds a foregrip to the forestock that can be mounted at different angles.... it uses a drum magazine if memory serves. I've seen a few on Gunbroker.

Here's one not terribly far from you.... http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=109574823

Kind of a cool gun, but really only as a novelty. I wouldn't trade my Saiga 12 for one.

according to wiki, the Striker-12 was only a semi-auto with a DAO trigger...

From the Gunboker ad:

"This is a Class III gun, please do not bid unless you know what this means. Transfer fees to my dealer I pay, you are resposible for transfer fees to your dealer, and the $200 ATF tax. Plese Make sure these are legal in your state. It is on a form 4."

Aren't these currently classified as a Destructive Device? Hence the NFA paperwork and taxes?

Yes they are considered a Destructive Device by the BATF.

I agree, I like the Saiga 12 better than the "Street Sweeper" Striker.

The thing works by a wind-up spring. I don't know what that action is called but I doubt that it's called a semi-auto. At least not in the common understanding of semi-automatic firing, that is.

Hmmm. I was under the impression that the only thing the wind-up spring was for was to turn the magazine drum. I had thought that the crappy trigger cocked and released the striker like a DAO pistol.

The only STREET SWEEPER I ever seen was a pump.

It had a handle hanging down just under the barrel to pump it.

It was my understanding that the street sweeper was banned because it held more shells than the antigunners liked

Yes they are considered a Destructive Device by the BATF.

If the shotgun-revolver can be considered a DD then anything can. This is a twisted BATF ruling that should be priority one for the gun rights crowd to overturn, if nothing else because of the horrible precedent it sets

A revolver is a revolver. If this is not overturned then anything can be a DD

It would be nice if companys like Mossberg and Remington could accept a drum magazine.

I bet if you took a Mossberg pistol grip shotgun with heat shield and put a drum magazine in it that would look really cool.
Not only would it look cool but it would make sense.

If you could find a drum 12GA magazine I bet it would not take alot of work to figure a way to rig it in the gun.
