I have the opportunity to buy my buddy's used G27 from 1999 or a new one from 2008. My question is, is there any mechanical differences or reason to go new vs. used? Thank you in advance!

Only difference is the newer LCI extractor and matching spring loaded bearing. Buy your buddy's pistol.
