I'm kinda leary on shooting let alone be confident carrying it. But will see how it does after a couple hundred rounds through her tomorrow

It ended up being the guide rod

Only thing you can do is shoot the hell out of it to regain confidence.

Plus the failure wasn't exactly the fault of the Glock if I recall.

Well a broken guide rod is the glocks fault. I love thee gun so far and I actually have been carrying it more than my M&P this week> Now I have doubts.

?

The recoil spring assembly was bad?

After how many rounds fired?

Make sure you are putting the end fully into the semi-circular notch when you reassemble it.

I was only speaking from seeing your other thread where it seemed like the guide rod was replaced incorrectly which could very well mess it up.

Anyways like I said just shoot the hell out of it and eventually you'll regain that confidence.

I dont believe I inserted it wrong. This isnt my first time putting a guide rod in. Hey I'm not talking ish on the Glock. Like I said I loved the thing since I walked out of the store with it. It's just one of those things. I'll shoot some rounds through it tomorrow and go from there>

No reason to 'lose confidence' in a handgun just because a part required replacement. I always test-fire a pistol after a part is replaced, to check for normal functioning and confirm the repair returned the pistol to normal working condition.

Why do you suppose they offer armorer training and sell spare parts?

Of course, the trick is to have a suspected problem diagnosed & corrected/repaired by someone qualified and experienced to do so in the first place.

Of course, if you're an RSO you already know that. ;)

FWIW, back before I first started going to a lot of armorer classes I remember being shaken when a firearm I owned or used required a repair.

Once I'd seen for myself how easily firearms, like all other machines, can sometimes require some sort of repair, for whatever reason, and had started making simple field repairs as an armorer, I started looking at them as another machine.

Diagnose the problem ... Fix the problem ... Check for normal function ... and then go on to something else ... ;)
