new glock owner/new here

Hello everyone,Im new here . Two days ago i shot my first glock,I bought two of them yesterday.I shot a g-17 and loved it,so when i went to buy one the salesman showed me glock 22 in 40 cal.I was impressed with what he told me about the round so I bought a new g-22 and a slightly used g-27.No i own the two glocks and am dieing to go shoot them this weekend.My questio is this ,ive been looking around on the net and have found out they have had problems with the 40 cal pistols blowing up.I also read an article that said by replacing the barrel with a aftermarket I could avoid this.Im a little worried now and wanted to get some other glock owners input on my concerns.If i use good ammo and no lead bullets and no handloads will I be safe from this problem?Glad to be here and thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Hello to you jackson76, and welcome to the Glock Talk forum. The folks around here will all be ready to help you if you have any problems, and they are very knowledgable. You don't have to worry about your Glock blowing up. I've been carrying one for fifteen years and have shot several thousand rounds through it, and there have been several hundred thousand rounds fired through all of the Glock 22's in my department, and not one has ever blown up!!!!! If you use factory ammo or factory reloads and no lead reloads you will never have a problem. You really don't think that 60% of the nations law enforcement officers would carry a weapon that blows up do you? Just enjoy your Glock the way Gaston sold it to you. Here is a picture of my 15 year old duty Glock. It's never had a part changed in all that time. A little dusty around the trigger guard though.

thank you krl45. Glad to meet you,thanks for the input,I just was a little worried about maybe doing something wrong and destroying my gun.I will be headed to the range first thing in the morning to try my new toys out.cant wait.

Welcome, Jackson. That's a good start to your collection, too. Starting with two means you're a natural. Just wait until you find out that .357 Sig barrels will double your options in mere moments.
