G36 w/ light rail

Hypothetically speaking would it be possible to modify a G36 to have light rails? I believe that the barrel and slide length are the same as the G30, but is the frame too thin where the rails would be located? Does anybody in the know have any thoughts on this.

I suggest you learn to use a hand held Surefire--far more practical than any mounted light.

theoretically, I'm sure you could do enough modifications to make it work. Practically, no point. The G36 is a "conceal" pistol. It's hard to conceal a gun light. If you need a light on a subcompact, stick with the G30.
