In other news...the national unemployment dropped 0.0002% after many gas stations hired some poor bastard to do nothing but stand by the road sign and change the prices every 2 minutes.

My dad said gas in Jackson TN is up to $5.50 or so. I filled my car for $3.77 for premium. Filled mom's car and my bike too for $3.52/gal regular. It appears localized to the southern states surrounding the affected areas.

Might have something to do with a big hurricane directly striking oil rigs in the gulf causing them to suspend production. Then, it hit 70% of our refineries are in the Galveston/Houston area. The market freaks when things like that happen.
Seems just the SE states. Taking advantage of the Bible Belt Fear Factor. Scaring them into buying the **** out of gas and making money on it. Governors of those states should be busting heads.
Filled up this morning for $3.51 Southern Maryland.

The pumps around where I live havent moved since yesterday. That station that had it at 5.79 needs to be closed!! I cant beleive someone would try and stick it to people like that. Weird that listing isnt on the front page anymore. the BP's here in town are always some ridicolus amount. The Kangaroo stores put a limit on gas. Sickening.

And what, pray tell, would that be? Do you not have a DrMaxit Fear Factor because you post on an internet forum dealing with the legal ownership of firearms and, by association, show that you approve of such ownership if you do not at least partake in such?

It is a little ridiculous here. (N Georgia) a .50 disparity over a few miles. It ranges from $3.79 to $4.29... definite gouging going on

In Kentucky the govenor declared a state of emergency, so that KY's price gouging laws will be in effect. However in Louisville prices are up @ $.80 a gallon since Thursday.

I remember on 09/11/01, that afternoon at about 7:30 PM EST, that gasoline was $4.00 at a Marathon station near where I lived.
Here, 7 years later, it is almost $4.00 a gallon anyway.
And what, pray tell, would that be? Do you not have a DrMaxit Fear Factor because you post on an internet forum dealing with the legal ownership of firearms and, by association, show that you approve of such ownership if you do not at least partake in such?
"Pray and thou shalt receive.." Guy, I was born and raised in Aug GA. Trust me, there is a panic factor (fear factor ect, sorry if my wording hurt your feelings.) People heard about a "gas crisis" they panicked and and ran to the pumps, gas stations jacked the prices up knowing that the higher they got, the "oh crap its happening!!" mentality would kick in, and people would buy even more gas, afraid it would all be gone... And.. it worked (is working)

The QT down the street from me ran out of gas.

Only one of the 20 or so gas stations near my house even has gas anymore. This area went crazy and everyone just had to top-off all their cars yesterday so they could.... stay at home all weekend. Idiots.

Isn't it shameful that the government is impeding capitalism and fining businesses for having good business practices . I don't understand why people are complaining. If you don't want to pay for the gas because it is too expensive, then don't buy it.

I saw several stations at $3.69 today. Chevron, QT, and an Exxon.
Today here in central Idaho it went from 3.99 to 3.93. It has slowly been dropping.
