Man, I love this little work of art. Took out today, certifying it for carry, and ran a total of 170-rounds of 230gr goodness down range. All 170-rounds can be covered by the open end of a coffee cup. I shot slow, rapid fire, just about every method to force a malfuction and couldn't.

For all those who fear the G36, by all means, give it a try. I absolutely love mine!!!!

Now that I got that off my chest, I have to admit that I have a brand new G30SF in the safe and I haven't even fired it. I've had it for two months now, but can't put the G36 down. I know this is a cardinal sin, but what can I say. As a matter of fact, can't even tell you the last time I had my G21 out for a walk.

In your pocket? Man, those must be some hefty pants you are wearing. I could never envision getting my G36 in to a pocket. Gotta love these guns!

In some pants I am able to pocket carry my 36 also; very comfortably too.

Best in my arsenal:

Love these G36 threads, there's been a quite few G36 threads and that's exactly what I'll be buying real soon. Had my eye on the G36 for awhile but I noticed these thread are pushing me hard...Thanks for spending my money:supergrin:

Plan on buying a G36 by next spring/summer. I can conceal my G21 easily during colder weather but not during the heat.

I could never envision getting my G36 in to a pocket. Gotta love these guns!A G36 will fit in my pocket but I have trouble getting a cell phone out of my pocket in a hurry. That's why I carry the cell phone OWB. A G36 in my pocket would probably take 30 seconds to safely draw when standing! It would be a lost cause when seated.

I own and love a G30, and will be picking up my NIB G36 this coming Tuesday. I am very eager to put several hundred rounds through her! I'll post a follow-up thread with the results.

I believe my G36 to be one of the best concealed carry weapons on the planet. 100% reliable with too many brands/types/weights of cartridges to mention here. Hell of an accurate pistol to boot.

At the local gun show in Charlotte today...I saw a couple going for $520. Pretty good pricing these days.

Oh my. You've been bitten. The 36 bug has infected you and you're smitten with bitten.

I love my G36. Handles great and runs like a cadillac. It has replaced all my other guns as my EDC and fills that roll very well. Have fun !

My only Glock is a 19. When I was deciding to buy a Glock I went back and forth between the 19 and the 36. One day it would be the 36 and the next day it would be the 19. I would make up valid reasons one was better than the other and so forth. I know my dealer got tired of me coming in wanting to see the 2 Glocks. I loved the feel of the 36. I think it feels better than the 19 in my hand. That 36 has to be one of the best feeling handguns I have ever held in my hands.

In the end I went with the 19 knowing that 9mm ammo is MUCH cheaper than 45ACP and that fact would allow me to practice more with the 19 that I would be able to do with the 36. I like the feel of the 19 too, but it isn't as comfy in the hand as that 36.

The 36 will be my next Glock for sure.

Gotta say it once more...

My G36 is one of my most valued possessions, period.
It has been 100% from day one with any and all ammo, including +P and hollowpoints.
I would never part with it and as soon as I get time to shop around a little I intend to buy a 2nd G36 just to ensure I'll always have one.

I'm placing an order this week for ten more G36 mags, which will make a total of 16 or so, and I may make it 18 or 20 total...
I'm also putting together a list of spare parts to buy, including a spare barrel.
This is the only firearm that I value as much as my AR.

(my G36 was purchased NIB in late '01)

You KNOW you want it.
Cmon' it feels SO good...
Just give in to the force, go with the flow.

If you don't buy a G36 all the other kids are gonna call you "sissy".

(and be sure to get it with the Trijicon night-sights)

I have the 30 & 36 and I would have a difficult time deciding which to say goodbye to if I had to. Both are shooters and definitely keepers!:wavey:

Well, I'm going to a gun show this Saturday. Might have to bring one home. I hope they have them with night sights right out of the box.

i looked at a 36 and it seemed nice but i don't know why they just didn't make the grip longer. do they make a flat floor plate for that mag and that is why the grip is not longer?

This little gadget makes all the difference in the world realtive to the 36 grip. The +0 extension does not compromise reliability imo.

I have the Pearce +1 extension on several of my G36 mags and they have always worked 100% for me.
Lately I've come to mostly prefer the mag as-is (without the Pearce extension), but it's so nice to have the choice.
With the +1 you have a 7-rd +1 capacity which is of course equal to a 1911...

I also like that the factory mags are so easy to carry in a pocket...

I have very small hands, but even so I would be happy if the grip were a tad longer. As it is its a good fit for me and of course the gun is more concealable with the short grip...

the +1 sounds nice, 8 rounds of .45 i could live with. i bought a 23 for the round count but my next might be that flat 36.
before glocks i carried a .45 comander, a bit heavy, but i love the .45.
ATLAS, why do you prefer the mag as is?

ATLAS, why do you prefer the mag as is?

Not so much that I strongly prefer it that way but it's very nice to have the choice by just swapping the mag. It's like "Convert-a-gun"!

With the extended +1 mag it looks a little strange because of the split where the actual grip ends and the mag extension begins, but it gives the grip a really nice feel and to my eye and hand the Pearce extension is well shaped and suits the overall look of the gun.

http://www.pearcegrip.com/images/glock36.gif

With the non-extended mag the gun is back to being very compact and the non-extended mags fit so nicely in a pocket.
It's great either way for me, and with my small hands the G36 fits well regardless.

Also, I'm not a large guy but the G36 recoil is very manageable for me, even with +P ammo. No double-taps mind you, but still it's a great little shooter.

Many people say that with only 6 rounds in the mag you may as well just have a revolver, but I can't understand that logic at all.
I'd much rather make a quick reload by popping in a fresh mag than to screw around with a speedloader!
And the short slim G-36 mags fall free instantly...

Looking now at the +0 extensions (on the link provided above by elde) I'm gonna try those also.
Looks like in length it's somewhere between the standard mag and the +1 extension.

I have XXL + size hands, so this gun is too short gripped for me, and also when handling the 30 and 36 I really can't tell the practical difference. I'll stick with my 16 shot BHP Detective slide 9MM and 9MM M43 Firestar for deep concealment. Maybe a KAHR MK9 9MM, too

The G21 is my kind of .45

Ahh. Another G36 lover. I have had two. One I bought used back in 01, I put XS big dot night sights on it later on. I then sold it to my father in law because he wanted a glock to carry. Well I think it just sits around somewhere and has never been carried since he took it over. I missed it so much I purchased a new one in July. It still has factory sights right now, I will put another set of XS big dots on it soon. The G36 is my primary carry, I have never had a problem at all with either of them.

I do carry my G21sf in the fall/winter, but I can always tell it is on my hip. The G36 on the other hand, I sometimes forget it is even there...

A friend of mine keeps trying to trade me his (I admit, very nice) G36 for my G26 (which I dearly love). I was on the verge of doing it until I looked up the measurements and found that the 36 is about 1/2" longer and taller than the 26, which is bad for me as I pocket carry, and anything bigger than my 26 just won't work :crying: If I had the funds I'd buy it outright from him...it is a sweet gun.

I love mine. I hesitated for quite some time after reading some of the problematic ones on here for the past few years. I'm so glad I finally purchased one. It eats anything I run through it. It's made my G-30 jealous but I'll give her some time with winter coming.

+1 on the Pearce +1:)
I have a number of magazine both with, and without the Pearce +1 and they all function with 100% reliability. My 36 has never had a failure of any kind in over a dozen different types of ammunition brands, weights, types, hp/ball....etc.

...IMO, it's (arguably) one of the top 5 CCW pistols of all time.

I'm with ya on that one....and let's not forget...it's 6+1 = 7 or 7+1 = 8 rounds we're talking about...not to mention 45ACP!!

Show me a viable option in a revolver that gives you 7 or 8 in 45ACP and just as easy to carry.

Have owned my G-36 for years and found that it disappears under a tee shirt when carried in a BladeTech IWB holster. Never had any problems with it and have carried daily. Is a little large for pocket carry but have a 442 for that. With night sights and a good holster it hard to beat this little gun.

+1 show me a revolver (or any other brand of semi for that matter) that cycles to the half-cock position after firing.

Hell, it's much easier to drop a spare loaded G36 mag into your pocket than a speed-loader.
Try sticking a speed-loader full of .357 mag into a rear pocket and sitting down.

And when/if the time comes that you need to whip it out of that pocket in a huge hurry...
