View Full Version : SS Guide Rods Problems in Glocks
WickedGlock posted a question about SS Guide rods. I tried to read all of them, but he had all kinds of opinions. That is good, but what I'm asking for is only problems with SS Guide rods. I have a SS rod with a captured 20# spring in my G20 with no problems. If any of you had a problem with a SS Guide Rod in a Glock, please respond. Thanks.

I've not had any issues with the T.H.E. captured Stainless rods at all.
Others like the lightning strike have caused me enough problems to throw them in the trash.....i can't really go into specifics right now tho'...

I have a Wolff #20 spring and SS guide rod in my G-32. The Wolff recoil assembly has noticeably reduced the muzzle flip. When someone started a similar thread last week I read about wear on the slide so I carefully inspected my slide with a magnifying glass. It looks brand new with no marks whatever.
I had a glockmeister ss rod fail in my 27 the smaller inside small spring grabbed the larger cilinder of metal that the lg spring is over. and pealed it back.and caused the gun to seize up mid battery... it wasn't a easy break down after that it took some time to get apart. Glocmeister rebuilt it for free but the said it was from a hotload but it was a factory win. white box they did give me the runaround about it and they took there time it took over a month to get it back... I went back to the factory rod for fear of another mailfunction .

I had a tungsten captured rod installed in my G19. In the midst of shooting, the assembly came apart and the rod stuck out of the front of the gun. Stay stock.
