Now, wait a minute.
I've seen Blade Tech's products where I fire, and they seem to be excellent. My friend the Rangemaster-Fireman told me he forgets to put on his jacket sometimes when he gets out of his car, they're apparently that comfortable to wear for prolonged periods. My other friend the Lawdog/Barrister also favors Blade-Tech.
if Blade Tech's going to do us the courtesy of visiting us here on GlockTalk and answering our questions right here in our forum, I'll order their new product.
I have never favored IWB holsters, and have always considered them unneccessary, however I'll give this one a try.
"One for the G23 in L.hand, please." :drillsgt:

I have Crimson Trace on my weapon.

Blade-Tech IWB's with straps are indeed very comfortable. I caried my G30 that way for about 8 years, often as long as 12 hours a day and driving 600 miles.

The NANO is now available for the Glock 37,38,39. As well as the Regular glock 20/21 and the 29 /30. The SF glock 20/21 and the Glock 29/30 with rails will be available soon.

I noticed there is an 8.85% Washington State Tax charged. Is that normal for internet purchaces?

The regular B-T IWB was my first IWB and didn't really work out for me. I went through several others and finally found comfort and excellent design with Comp-Tac.

I'd have to really test the hell out of this new design before I kept it, as the older model would move around too much. Not a real fan of the pull-dots either on a holster as they tended to either not unsnap when I wanted them to or unsnap when i did NOT want them to.

Still, improvements are rarely a bad thing, good to see they're working on it.

I do like the B-T OWB rigs and Tek Lok design. If we still had the option of personally owned holsters on duty, I'd probably carry my M9 in that for the LE role and keep the 6005 for tactical use.

I beat you to it, Danny! I ordered one for my G38 Monday evening. As I have never found a Kydex IWB holster to be comfortable, this will be a real acid test!

DannyR
09-23-2008, 13:01
I've never had a snap pop open. The fact that the straps can move around a little bit is what makes a Blade-Tech so comfortable when driving long distances.

Just got my Nano today (Friday)...adjusted it as discribed on the instruction sheet. Wore it to dinner this evening. What a comfortable holster. Never carried IWB before, I may never hang a holster on my belt ever again.
BTW
What is the rule of thumb for how tight the gun should be retained? I set it so if turned upside down it wouldn't fall out of the holster. Good or Bad setting?

Sure looks nice and they are a well respected manufacturer. I just don't like my IWB kydex holsters. Not very comfortable.

Blade-Tech
10-04-2008, 13:15
RAGU
The rule of thumb would be what you are comfortable with. Remember the tighter the pants or belt, the more pressure that would be put on the inside the waistband holster. Thus making an even slightly tighter fit. But when YOU are comfortable with it not coming out untill you want it out, then thats the right tightness.

Yo
10-04-2008, 13:28
If you want a plastic holster, I suggest an injection molded Uncle Mikes for under $20.00. I've had two Blade-Techs. Sturdy, yes, but the fit was so-so, the holsters ground the finish off the high-points of my HKs, and there were exposed screwheads or rivets that scratched the finish on a fast draw.

The Uncle Mikes fit the gun MUCH better, drew more smoothly, didn't abrade the gun, oh yeah, and it cost one-fourth what I paid for my Blade-Tech.

IMHO BT is a company that was innovative a decade ago, but whose products are now over-rated and over-priced.

Does the NANO ride higher than the original IWB? I have both and it seems about 1/4" or so higher.

Yes you will notice a slightly higher ride on some of the Nanos, to widen the strap area and to get the straps off the side of the gun, we lowered the dots slightly to do that. Resulting in a slightly higher ride for some of the holsters.

I have the new IWB's for both my G38 and G39, and really like them better than anything I've ever used. I'm attaching some photos:

1. G39 on left, G26 in right

2. G38 on left, G19 on right

3. G39 on left, G26 on right

4. G38 on left, G19 on right

As you can see, the Nano's have a speed cut.

The G19 and G26 holsters are 1997 Blade-Tech IWB's, FBI Cant. The G38 and G39 are the new Nano.

You know what?!! Damn right your on it!! I have exchanged a few PM's with you over the past week or so because I had never tried a BladeTech holster before. You were very informative in helping me make my decision which holster would be the right one. I ordered a "NANO" for my M&P 40 compact on Monday afternoon and received an email saying that it was not a stock holster that it may be a week or so before I got it...that was cool! Low and behold I had a new NANO in my mailbox today (Wednesday)....2 DAYS??? that was awesomely fast! I took it out of the bag and immediately put it on before I left the house...very nice holster and comfortable too...I will definately test it alot here over the weekend.I will the post a review and some pictures too.....My hats off to BladeTech for great customer service and a great product!! Years ago Mike Horne and Michael Harries (of flashlight fame) made the "Snick" kydex holster. That was my introduction to plastic. Soon after that I met Blade-Tech and never looked back. My over ten year old Blade-Techs are still in splendid condition, hold the guns with appropriate snugness, and are comfortable (although I understand the present generation is even better in that regard).

The only wish I have is that the Glock models could be cut lower at the
rear of the trigger guard, the better to permit contact between the second finger of the firing hand and the junction of the trigger guard / front of grip. It's a minor irritant, anything that makes it easier to achieve a firing grip prior to the draw stroke probably should be considered.

Can the original IWB still be made with a semi closed bottom like the one posted by Dann R (post #51)? My current ones look more like the one posted in post #52. The curved bottom would help eliminate a "hot spot". Also can it be made with a lower ride height?

Thanks.

 I've got 3 Blade-Tech holsters (custom Kydex). All I wear, anymore, is Blade-Tech.

I'm using standard design holsters with Tek-Lok clasps inside the waistband on the opposite side. (Don't like the extended sweat guard.)

One thing I'll say for Blade-Tech Kydex: Very fast! After a lifetime of doing it, I no longer like to pull from leather; and, sometimes, I wear these holsters IWB for more than 12 hours at a stretch. No complaints!

Received my Nano on Friday, 11/14/08. I was skeptical on how it was gonna feel, but I have worn it for three days and it is awesome. I carry the Glock 36 and this was a perfect fit. The draw is smooth and quick, yet the retention of the holster is fantastic.

I highly recommend the Nano.

carolinajohn63
11-25-2008, 11:48
For the most part, I can wear the Nano all day with good comfort. It is very positional with the clock 36. If I do not have it "just so," it rides hard against the greater trochanter of my right hip.

I tend to have to ride it back a little further than I am used to to make sure it does not press into my hip.

I did wear it for 12 hours straight the other day and had a fairly comfortable day.

I've worn a Blade-Tech IWB for the better part of this decade and it is an awesome holster. The rubber strap for the Pull-The-Dots finally broke at the area where it bends around the bottom of the belt.

Yes, four models for four different guns. It rode too high & IMO kydex is not good for IWB. It doesn't mould like leather. To be fair, I am not an IWB lover.

Yes the 17,19,and the 26 will fit in the 35/35 holsters. After you hit add to the cart, scroll down to find the place to add the discount code. Coupon is GLOCKTALK all caps.

Looks like the GLOCKTALK coupon code is no longer valid. :( I had my shopping cart all loaded up and then did some more perusing here at glocktalk.com and was excited to find a discount code offered. Any chance it'll be reinstated? We just got CCW here in WI today and my app is in the mail, I should have my license by the end of the month and I need a new IWB for my G39!
