Granted, I may just be a layman, (laywelder?) but this is how politics seem to me: Taking credit for the good things, whether or not you had a hand in them, and blaming the other guy for the bad things.

Doesn't apply to today's Pubicans.
The classical definition that I used to teach in my poli. sci classes was: "Politics is the search for power." If a person tells you he/she is a politician, just remember that everything that person does can be attributed to his/her search for power.
