Mine's more of a time-line, than "two sides".

Me with one of the most fantastic women I've ever known, back in 1992:

CJ, first of all - you have a beautiful family, and that car is badass.

Secondly - in that first pic, you look EXACTLY like Huey Lewis. Have you seen "American Psycho"?

Thanks! The poor Elky has been neglected lately, sitting in her garage. Probably has flat-spots on the tires.

That's the first time anyone's ever said I looked like Huey Lewis. I can see it in that pic. Never thought of it.

No, I've never seen American Psycho. Why?

I'll have to scan some pics from the old days in the dojo. We didn't have digital cameras, but we took lots of pictures.

When I did get a digital camera, I never thought to bring it to the dojo.

In the 4th picture I'm wearing my favorite hat. I've had that hat since '92, and I still wear it when the weather's right.

It must be magical, because I was wearing it when my wife fell in love with me, and to this day, women still give me lots of attention when I wear it.

I love that hat.

TylerDurden
09-25-2008, 12:58
Love the El Camino - when I was in high school, a friend had one we used to tear around town in.

The Huey Lewis/American Psycho reference was to this scene from the film:

http://glocktalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=11340280&postcount=11

I've never gotten any pics from the boxing gym, just pre/post pics. I'm always there by myself and it would be a little weird to ask another random dude to take pics of me.

I'd wear the hat if I could pull it off... I don't think I've got the right style for that. The only hat I have is an old Minnesota Twins cap (we all rooted for them when I lived in ND).

Hell no, it doesn't tarnish anything!

I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, and only moved to Texas about 5 years ago.

All my life I wanted to live in Texas, and I finally got the job opportunity that made it happen for me. My wife is a native Texan, born in Victoria. My kids were born in Baton Rouge.

We still can't help but love it, and I love all of my in-laws, who are all native Texans.

Professional in the service industry... no lab coats, just shirts and dockers. Service manager for a construction equipment manufacturer, handle service calls on the phone and in person in the Midwest, but the company's global. Still in the process of getting back from Madrid at the time of this writing, as a matter of fact.

In private, I'm diverse. Barely reformed horndog and shameless serial poontanger who's also a dedicated husband and father. Patient with idiot customers, but I frequently instigate road rage incidents, just because. Patient and disciplined marksman and hunter, but hate waiting for the damned microwave to go "ding...". I'm a former Marine, and while I haven't worn the uniform for over 20 years, I'm still not housebroken, and actively maintain a lot of the field skills I acquired, not just the shooting part. I have many, many friendly relationships with co-workers, aquaintences, neighbors, extended family, etc, going back dozens of years that I'm contact with, but only three real friends, and two of them are also Jarheads. I look at the world differently, and as a result, the term sociopath has been applied on occasion. Personally, I think it fits, but then someone else could also point out my volunteer work, some informal mentoring I do for a family down the street, my dedication to family, and faith.

I'm a humanitarian, a cynic, a stoic, and a renaissance man. I love Shakespeare and Megadeth, Jack London and Die Hard, Bach and Frank Zappa, I took 2 years of debate at the same time I was attending a vocational high school, and gave serious consideration to being a farmer on more than one occasion. My passions run deep, and I'm still both happily mystified and completely consumed by all women in general, who are probably the single most powerful motivator in my life, and I love cats.

Howzat for a thumbnail sketch?

No, that was still the glimmer in his eye from the broad two people in front of me in the greeting line. She was hot as balls. He would shake a hand, pose, take the picture and move on. It took maybe 20 seconds total. When he got to her, he paused and spent at least 2 minutes with her. His aide actually had to move him along. It was funny as hell.

That's me in the back on the right hand side in the NRA Instructor hat and the black TFL Alumnus shirt. Every summer for the last 8 years my local sportsmen's club runs a week long Shooting Sports Camp for kids. Virtually all of the gear you see pictured there was purchased with grants from the NRA Foundation. We host a Friends of NRA Banquet every year to help do our part to raise the money we receive.

Those kids kick ass. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the kid in the front (middle) in camo shirt and hat ends up in the Olympics some day. Kid's a shotgun wizard.

Here's me all casual and scruffy (and unshaved for about five days), but chillin' in my civilian clothes at Dragon*Con this year. Note the custom COBRA hat, and the COBRA-blue dog tags, which are hints to my secret affiliation...

Be a real Jack Handy moment when they all went away screaming after digging through his guts for candy.

I love Jack Handy. It made me sad to find out that Uncle Caveman was a bear.

By weekend, I do stoopid **** like this

http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh193/brun02/_MG_7465f_1.jpg

(the niece and I are the front 2 on the right, note her timing is off, typical woman)

Poor kid, I have corrupted her, she was a shooter at 7, scuba diver at 10, boat pilot at 11, and skydiver at 18. I have totally ruined her life.

I've been trying to post a pic of my daughter on her first birthday, (the day she was born).

Only just now is the hotel's piss-poor internet connection letting me do that.

Sorry, again, for the clickable thumbnail. It's the best I can do at the moment.

It's the best I can give you for "my other side".

I stayed up all night in the hospital waiting for her to arrive. I watched the Godfather trilogy all night.

Edit: The clickable thumbnails are even better now than they were before!

It might be awkward when my 30 year old son is still trying to breast feed.

I've been waiting for you to repost that, so I can add it to the Durden photoshops. It now sits alongside Jesus Durden, Extreme Shock Durden, Zebra Ass Face Durden and several others.

Thanks Mullah!

Eeee! She's cute!

She's 7 now, and still a wee tiny lass.

Smallest in her age range. Been in gymnastics since she was 4, and excells at it.

She's still cute as a button.

Have fun in about eight or ten years, CJ. You're gonna need to get all her GT Uncles to come by and help stand watch, so she can be under protection twenty-four/seven, and we can keep the boys away.

I like to keep two sacks of something with me at all times. That way, if someone says, "Hey, can you give me a hand with this?"

I can say, "Sorry, got these sacks"

Probably so, but those GT Aunts and Uncles aren't likely to be from Project Mayhem, save a select few.

Not that I don't trust you guys, but I've never been one to trust an attractive teenage girl with any man. I grew up with a sister, and all of her wacky friends, so I know how they are.
