opening day of deer season in ohio!

its opening day of archery here in ohio. i have not missed an opening day of deer season in 23 years. i also have never harvested a deer on opening day in 23 years! i do not know why i feel i have to go out on the first day but i do!!! i did see deer across the field with my binos but no shot with a stick and string. sure wish i had my muzzleloader!!!!

I did not get a chance to go last season here in Bama. I hope to get one this year with my .41 magnum!

I can't wait for the Obama photo-op where he is standing holding a rifle. I figure it would be either in Pennsylvania or Ohio.

On a more thread on topic note. I always liked the companionship and getting into the wild places part of hunting more than getting a deer. I loved just being out there when I was a kid with my Uncle and cousins who were way more into hunting than I was.

Don't start here for another 2 weeks.

Wish I had thought to get my bow skills up to par LAST winter. :( Lots of does up behind my house. I gotta wait til December to try - and likely not get a chance due to pressure by then.
