View Full Version : Hair stiffening products
I get my hair cut in a Flat top and the Barber put something in it to make it stiff, and stand straight up, what do they use? and where can I get it (or a easily purchesed equivalent).

Ask your barber if you want the exact same thing. There are lots of things that it could be. Probably the bottle they spray you with is a hair spray/water solution. Straight hair spray would be too much.

All I could think of reading the title is a stuffed rabit.
Get it, stiff hare :)

The old standby has always been "Butch Wax". You can get it just about anywhere. . . . WallyWorld . . . your local pharmacy, etc.
Other 'Gell' products work as well.
My haircut is a Flat-Top as well. Not too short on top. "High and Tight" on the sides and back. (Shaved!)
I don't put anything on/in my hair.

I use Joico Spiker. Best stuff I've ever used, it's water resistant too. I went as far to test it in the rain, walk outside and when I walked back in my hair was still straight up. It's good stuff and can be found at most salons.

My mom used Aquanet as a substitute for a cast iron coiffure protector.

I use that stuff also and it is amazing. It might be a little more expensive than the other brands but it is only because its some of the best stuff out there.
