I want to put another Glock in the safe, but I have a few questions:
I had a G22 that I really liked, and the recoil wasn't much of an issue with 180 grain loads. What is the felt difference between 180 and 165 or 155 grain loads?
I already have a Sig P6, and I use 115 grain loads in it. If I go with a G17 or G19, what is the felt difference between 115 vs. 124 vs. 147 grain loads?
And lastly, is there a real difference in recoil between a 180 grain .40 vs. a 147 grain 9MM vs. a 230 grain .45ACP?

The 9mm even with your +P and +P+ loads recoil is still moderate. This means faster follow up shots. As far as bullet weight your 115gr and 124gr have a better proven street record than the 147gr. When in the Marine Corps, we use this load for surpressd weapons.

Not sure about the difference in recoil between the different grain loads, but to answer your last question, the 9mm is gonna have the lesser recoil of the 3, not necessarily because of grain load, but simply because of caliber difference. The .40 and .45 are naturally gonna have more recoil than the 9mm, with the .40 recoil having more of a snap and the .45 recoil being more of a push really.

Federal HST 147 grain is working just fine on the "street".

I had a G22 that I really liked, and the recoil wasn't much of an issue with 180 grain loads. What is the felt difference between 180 and 165 or 155 grain loads? Lighter loads have more felt recoil and are more "snappy". I think the criticisms of the .40sw "snappy" recoil relate more to the 155gr and 165gr loads.
I already have a Sig P6, and I use 115 grain loads in it. If I go with a G17 or G19, what is the felt difference between 115 vs. 124 vs. 147 grain loads? The 147gr has the least recoil, but all are pretty tame. +p and +p+ loads will of course have slightly more felt recoil. Gun size/weight/design plays a HUGE part in felt/perceived recoil.
And lastly, is there a real difference in recoil between a 180 grain .40 vs. a 147 grain 9MM vs. a 230 grain .45ACP? Yes. 9mm will be least. Toss up to me in 180gr and 230gr and gun size/weight/design plays a HUGE part. If I had to pick, I'd say I prefer the less abrupt nature/character of the .45acp 230gr recoil. The 230gr .45acp will tend to push more back (into the hand), the 180gr slightly more flip of the front of the barrel.
My experience in blue in your post above.

Can you please link me to any data related to this? (or ALL HSTs in general)
I've only got like four OIS with this round.....
And lastly, is there a real difference in recoil between a 180 grain .40 vs. a 147 grain 9MM vs. a 230 grain .45ACP?
Yes there is a difference in recoil but most of the time it's just not significant enough to matter...at least to me.
Those would rank: (least to most recoil)
147gr
180gr
230gr
The difference between the 147gr and the 230gr is greater than the difference in any other adjacent combination of the three...
