Hi folks. I have just installed a modification that will change how images linked to and attached in threads will view. In the past, if I picture was too wide, it would push off the right side of the screen and mess up the blocking of the page. Now, no image will display wider or taller than 600 pixels. You will notice that when you move your cursor over an image embedded in a thread now, you get a magnifying glass icon, with a plus symbol. You can click on images that are larger than they are being viewed and you can view them at full size.
In the 'Edit Options' area of your UserCP, you have a set of options you can set to change the way this new system works. You can decide how attached images open ad how the images embedded in threads display, if they are larger than the displayed size. You can also set the displayed image width and height limits for yourself. If you are using a smaller monitor, for instance, you might want to lower the size limits to 300 or 400 pixels, so the images will always fit on your screen. If the way the images now display cause problems with your computer or browser, the first four options in the dropdown list allow you to set the image to enlarge in the same window, enlarge in a new window, open in new window or open in same window. Any of these four options will probably better suit you.
This system uses Javascript to function. If you have Javascript disabled on your system, or you have a really old system or if JS isn't functioning properly on your computer, this modification will not function and you should view images in threads the way you always did. Eric
