View Full Version : Henry Lever .22
How many other people have a Henry .22 lever rifle? I have had one for 9 years now and love it. It is my favorite plinker, and I have gotten 3 people to purchase these, and all of them had never shot before, but were addicted after shooting a couple hundred rounds out of my Henry.
It was 200$ when I got it 9 years ago, and it trumps my 10/22's because I can hunt with it in PA. I have put 20k+ rounds through it easily, probably more.
Sorry, I just felt the need to rave about this gun, it never fails to impress me. I was just shooting dead twigs off of trees at 50 yards with the thing.
I have found that .22 shorts are even more accurate than long rifle, although they do not feed as reliably. I can get a head shot on a squirrel at 50 yards easily with LR, but I can put almost every shot in one hole with the shorts for some reason.

it must be a flinch indused by the recoil:whistling:

I bought my son the youth model a couple of years ago. Dang thing, with iron sights, is more accurate than it has a right to be for a reasonably priced rifle. It's what I'm mostly likely to grab to deal with pesky pigeons and squirells. It has a nice smooth lever action and the accuracy gives one the confidence to shoot a pigeon off of their roof without shooting their roof.

lol, I know, those 22 LR are just overkill, guess I should switch to shorts....
I think it is one of those weird quarks in some guns. Like I bought some aguila ammo for it and it shot worse than the 11$ 550 round federal bulk packs, figure that out. But that is cool, my wallet and gf prefer me to shoot cheap ammo.

I've bought 3 Winchester 94s in the past little bit but still want the shorty Henry .22. Just got to get out to the store and get one. A perfect little truck gun.
