I am about to purchase my first 1911 and I am looking at two different manufacture/models and would appreciate any feedback or suggestions.

I am looking at the:

Springfield Armory Custom 1911 TRP Operator .45 that I can get with LE discount for $1,373. Firearms seems awsome.
I am also looking at the Kimber Custom TLE-RL .45 that I can get for $930 with LE discount.
:dunno:

Which would you recommend or are there any others I should consider?

i would go with the springer. that is just my personal preference. i have nothing against kimber, and i think they, for the most part, are a great weapon. im just not a fan of the firing pin safeties. my uncle has that exact model of kimber, and i like it alot, but i like my friends springer mc operator alot more. look into the mc operator as well, it is a great 1911, and a bit cheaper than the trp.

TRP.

Had a bad experience with a Kimber Custom TLE II.

The TRP is a top notch production 1911.

Of those two choices, the TRP is the better pistol. The TLE is a good 1911, but the TRP is at the top of the production gun "food chain", and nips at the heels of some of the semi-custom guns.

The TRP is a far better 1911 than the Custom II.
