Just curious what some of you 10mm guys are running in your Glocks. I am not so interested in reloads, just new ammunition. I have been using Remington Green and white box, as well as Hornady JHP. Just recently I picked up some PMC 200gr FMJ's. So the skinny is what type and why for your 10mm? Thanks f3

I have checked out the DT ammo and like some of it, just wanted to know about the box ammo in local shops and such really. I have just only seen about 3 types on the shelf. Thanks though f3

P.S. I also want to get the ratings according to the Fellas who are using sadi ammunitions.

None of it shoots like DoubleTap.

O.K. so I am now going to have to P/U some DT ammo. i am still interested in what my original question was. I now have to decide which DT ammo is gonna work for me..... :dunno: Suggestions (SD load)?? f3

DoubleTap - 165gr Speer Gold Dot

It's my carry ammo (and the common favorite of most other DT 10mm shooters here). It may be too expensive to practice with, but DT makes practice ammo that is a little easier on the wallet.

Anyone used the PMC 200gr stuff? Just curious how it will shoot this weekend? f3

Hornady XTP JHP 200gr for home defense. If you want more penetration 180-200gr FMJ's are great too.

when i bought my g20 i also got the pmc 200gr.blazer ammo.the blazer seems to have more recoil than the 200 gr. double tap ammo i have now. the pmc blazer ammo is very accurate and fed without a hicup:cool:!
im now working my way through the double tap 200gr. xtp ammo but i will buy more of the pmc blazer to shoot.im thinking of trying a different wt. bullet but the 200 gr. shoots so well:whistling:

I have used the Rem 180 in the green and white box g20 with stock barrel.

Seems to shoot well athough i've never shot paper with it. They function well and the brass insn't bulged so bad, it could be used for reloading.

I would like to try some factory Hornady 200gr XTP's, I reload these and they are extremly accurate.

^^^ I don't plan on reloading.. I mean it might happen but not anytime soon thats for sure. I would like to get the science of it down better first. f3

I have gone through about 400 rounds of my case of 200gr XTP from doubleTap in a g29 with no problems- been fun, fun, fun .

I think the general consensus is always going to be Doubletap for carry ammo. The trouble is deciding between all their different options.

For plinking rounds, check out Georgia Arms. They're still loaded fairly hot, and you can get 500 rounds of new manufacture in an ammo can for $147.50. Tough to beat for less than $0.30 a round.

In standard ammo from major manufacturers, the 175 gr Winchester Silvertip will probably be your best bet.

DT is great stuff, but if for some reason you want to stick with something that is more readily found locally, the Silvertips are (in my opinion) the best of the factory loads from the mainstream manufacturers.

Just my 2c.

Since I reload, I build my own hot loads for the woods. I have some 175 gr. Winchester Silvertips for defense, though i have not carried it for that purpose yet. Have also tried some Hornady 180 gr. XTP's.

Both of these loads functioned fine. I guess I slightly prefer the Silvertips for their velocity. They would be my carry choice if I had to carry it today.

The 200 grain PMC FMJ is good ammo. The CCI Blazer 200grain TMJ is a very good shooting load and one of my favorite practise loads. The Winchester 175 grain Silvertip is a good all round factory load. The Hornady 180 and 200 grain XTP's are quality loads. The Remingtom 180 grain UMC MC is another good practise load. All of these have been good loads in my Glock 29.

I like the 175gr silvertips for cc and as for home defense I like the 200gr xtp Hornady

DT 180gr Gold Dots or 175gr Silvertips.

Particularily for practice ammo, even though on the weak side, for economical shooting, Georgia Arms has quite the deal for 10mm 180gr FMJ practice ammo. $33.50/100rnds!!! Pretty hard to beat if you don't reload in terms of "plinking" ammo. They also load 155gr and 180gr Gold Dots in 10mm, but they are on the weak end of the spectrum for 10mm so it's better to stick with Double Tap for carry/hunting ammo.

Check out the Georgia Arms stuff here;

Good Shooting,
Craig:thumbsup:

PS - Georgia Arms also sells the 10mm 180gr FMJ loads in lots of 50rnds or 1000rnds in addition to the 100rnd lots.

Georgia Arms today told me they are out of the 180gr FMJ and their supplier can't get them any more for "maybe a month."
They're going to send me the 165gr instead.

Same thing happened to me earlier this year. The 165 grain will do. :mallninja:

Wow. Thanks for the update! For the price they sell it for, I guess it's a good idea to keep up with where they're at, and buy all you can when you can. But like DanMartin said, the 165gr will work just as well.................................till they're sold out.:crying:

The Canned Heat 500 or 1000 bulk purchase is a good deal for a medium power 10mm.

Rem 180gr FMJ green box and Hornady 180gr XTP (accurate!)

I've tried DT's 180 and 200 grain stuff and it's been very reliable and accurate (out of a G20 and G29), but I have yet to chronograph their ammo and get anywhere near the same results as advertised. DT advertises 1250fps out of a G20, I repeatedly get 1115fps or so. Not cool.

I have since switched to Buffalo Bore's 180 and 200gr stuff. Just as accurate, if not more so than DT, reliable, and their velocities are near their advertised speed of 1200fps. I get 1193fps out of my chronograph. That's about 80ftlbs. more energy than DT.

It's your choice, but I shoot a 10mm because I want full power loads. If you are going to shoot 180gr. bullets at 40SW velocities, I'd rather have a 40SW gun - lighter and slimmer than a G20 or G29.
