Hello all. I have fallen in love with the Federal HST round. I'm not sure if there is any animal but does Federal make the HST in 357sig? If so where is a good place to buy it online? Addresses and links would be appreciated. Also... is there any such animal as either a +p 357sig or 147gr 357sig in the HST line. Otherwise I'll probably just go with Gold Dots.

Anyone ever chrono HST in 357sig? Just curious what the FPS is.

Thanks! I hadn't looked at ammotogo's web site for a while and now that I know they're offering HST in .357sig I'll be ordering some.

I ordered some even though I don't have a .357 barrel yet. Whoops.

I'd just like to get some now in case it runs dry later on, also I needed a couple more boxes of 147+P to flesh out my stock.

But who has HST in .38 Special? I know they make a 125 grain at 950 FPS (totally underwhelming, they should have stuck a 140 or higher in there), but I have never seen it offered anywhere.

I think the .357 is rated by Federal at 1360 FPS. anyone ever seen any jello tests of it?

Less expansion than heavy 9mm, interesting. Where is the late 130s to 147 grain .357 HST anyway?

There is more bullet mass for expansion w/ a 147grJHP. The WWSXT is impressive & one of the fastest in my P239.

if federal made a 158 grain +p HST in .38 special, i would feel compelled to buy 1000 rounds

I was just thinking that a sort of ligthly loaded 158 .357 Magnum, maybe loaded to 1050 or 1100 feet per second, would be a superb HST. The product code for the .357 Sig is 357SHST1, which leaves the door open for a 357MHST1 later on.

I really want a 147 or at least a 135+ grain .357 Sig HST. I don't really follow ballistic pressure waves or anything like that so without trying out the .357, I kind of don't have a reason to carry the .357 125 HST over one of my two excellent 9mm pistols with 147+P HST or leaving my .40s as .40s with 165 or 180 grain HST.

I've handloaded some Speer 135grGDSB to 1250fps & they actually over expand, but maybe a std. 135grGD would do better. Penetration is exc.
