I don't confiscate guns...I BARTER for them.
I'm betting you don't want to do what I have to do!
LOOK!!
Up for barter I have:
A GENUINE Winchester Model 94 Buffalo Bill 30/30 with a silky a smooth lever action, a beautifully finished stock, complete with saddle ring and commemorative coin.
This firearm was only fired twice, by Buffalo Bill himself, to save a beautiful woman, much like yerself, from being takin' hostage by 2 heathen woman-haters.

So yes, I do want to know what you have to do to barter for a fine example of a weapon such as this.
Pull up a chair, kick yer feet up on the table, and enjoy a Dr. Pepper as you contemplate yer next actions.

Someone on this forum once told me that when it comes with men, you only have to do 2 things to keep them happy. Both of them start with "F".
...and no, one of them wasn't firearms!
 I'm still working on waking up...I'm having a nice DP to start my day. Let the sugar high begin!

It's a good thing there's a big picture of a Dr Pepper soft drink just above this message. I thought I was back in Project Mayhem for a second.

I said that about other sodas, a while back.
When I was...19? 20? I dunno, one of those two years. Anyways, it was one of the summers I worked at Scout Camp. There's a Coke bottling factory not too far from that Scout council's HQ, and they'd bottled up about some ridiculously high number of SURGE 20 oz bottles that they weren't able to sell for whatever reason, and they'd donated them to the Scouts. They ended up at our camp.
Well, we had a single Pepsi vending machine on the whole reservation, but as a result they had a no-rival-distribution clause with Pepsi -- so there was no way to give any of the SURGE (Coca Cola products) sodas away to any of the thousand and thousand of campers we had that summer. Which meant we camp staff got all of it. At that age. For free. Seriously, hundreds and hundreds of cases (stacked, these cases of soda literally filled the garage area that normally housed two speedboats, six sailboats, and ten each of rowboats and canoes). I don't think I drank a single drop of water all friggin' summer.
I'd "start my day" with a 20 oz (on my way to the showers), drink another bottle while dragging my uniform on and sprinting to the Mess Hall for morning flag ceremonies, drink one with breakfast, sip another while teaching my morning classes...etc, etc, etc, all day long, until going to bed at 4:00 am to catch a nap before starting a whole new day. I was going through a good sixty, seventy, bottles of the stuff a week. I seriously don't know how I didn't just shrivel up and die of dehydration, out there in the Kentucky humidity and all that, drinking just that stuff. I was just running on caffeine and sugar.
I gained about twenty pounds that summer. I kept up my "habit" (only with Mountain Dew instead, once I got back home) for about two more years, and it made my college sleep schedule even more erratic than most folk's. Shipping off to Basic was like detox, to me. I haven't been a big soda fan since then.
...and none of this has much to do with what you said, except that I used to say the exact same "nectar of the gods" thing, all the time. :tongueout: For some reason that made me feel like tellin' a story.

I remember Surge. It's been a while though.
I had a "FB" a while back that was a Diet Dew junkie. I've never seen anyone consume so many of the things as that guy did. Considering what he did for a living though and the odd hours he kept, I can understand why he was constantly on a high.
I'm not sure what my deal is with DP. I'll drink Coke if I have to but the rest of it, I can take it or leave it. And my other quirk is that I like my DP over ice, never in a can. If I can get it in the glass bottles (which you rarely see anymore) I'll drink it straight, no ice required.
I limit how many I have and don't go haywire with it. There for a few months while I was preparing for a big event, I'd even cut out ALL my caffeine entirely.
Ever get a Dr Pepper right out of their bottling place? It's not far from where I stole my wife from (Cleburne, TX), and in addition to being in the nice glass bottles, the locals can get them made with real sugar. Mmmmm-mm. S'good stuff.

I have actually been to Cleburne, TX but never knew they were bottled near there! Kronos AS/400 division was in Cleburne.
Some of the gas stations around here carry DP in those small bottles. They are downright yummy.
Dublin, Texas, home of the "Dublin Dr Pepper," (http://www.dublindrpepper.com/?gclid=CK74lYD5hpYCFQXGsgodaAMxEg) apparently it's about an hour away from Cleburne, according to my wife. So, uhh, I guess that counts as "nearby" by Texas standards. Sounds like you might want to take a trip there in June every year to celebrate their birthday. Looks like you can order on-line, too. Don't say I never gave ya nothin'. ;)

Soft drinks are generally bottled not too far from where you buy them. Shipping that much sugar water costs a lot of money. It's cheaper to set up bottling plants regionally.

I agree, Dr. Pepper in the original glass bottles (IF you can find them in bottles) is literally one of the most refreshing drinks out there. Something about the glass bottle brings out the best of the Dr. Pepper taste.

Someone was lucky enough to find a 6-pack of those not long ago and brought them to work. We about killed one another over them!
Hey...who let you in here?!?

Haha...oh to be a juvenile again...
Unfortunately, those I encounter on a daily basis that I would love to beat the piss out of would only result in no paycheck and a trip to jail.
I know how you feel though...for some reason no matter how many or what kind of bag I punch or kick, it just isn't the same as beating on some no-good piece of **** with a pulse.
