Must have been a drug-seize vehicle.

You gotta be on drugs to buy one yourself!

Texas DPS uses a lot of Dodge's version of the Suburban.

Sorry, I've never had any desire to learn the proper name for the thing.

:tongueout:

No. The Durango is Dodge's version of the Trailblazer. Dodge has a full sized model, like the Suburban.

Durango is a girly little SUV.

I drive a Chevy Silverado standard cab on occasion as a Security Forces patrol vehicle.

Handy when you need to throw an entire fire team in the back (which we're not technically allowed to do) but a real pain much of the rest of the time. Higher so they roll more (last day I worked patrol was in one, responding to an alarm at the MPF for the finance section aka "bank robbery possible" I was doing 60mph and took a 30mph curve. Even with aggressive steering and both lanes I had to slow down or flip it)

If I had to use a truck for patrol it'd be a crew cab shortbed with a cap on it, more or less a Suburban. :) An Avalanche wouldn't be too bad either if it had a cage.

I could see the Durango working out better than a regular truck though.

Actually, I think they do make them in Mexico, I used to see them in So TX. They also made 4 door Broncos for a while before Excursions (we called 'em Broncoburbans). Still makin' new Ramchargers down there too.

They make all kinds of wierd crap in Mex, they even still have the Chevy Luv.

The only time I have ever seen a PD field a fleet of anything Mopar, they sent them back. Anyone remember the "Intrepid Incidents"?

The Intrepid incident came from Dodge offering killer deals to agencies for their police package Intrepid. Come to find out, the brakes had a nasty little habit of catching on fire, even during normal driving conditions. Then, Dodge opted to sell out and not honor their product and refused to fix the issue.

So, thousands of Intrepids were "grounded" while the lawsuits went through court. In the meantime, those cars decayed and rusted away in police lots for months (and often years). By the time the lawsuits were nearing their conclusion, the cars were not able to be salvaged, and most agencies didn't get anything more than scrap value for them.

Mopar customer service at it's best.

Oh, and stop giving people rimshots.
