View Full Version : Dog Ate The Chili...Oh Noes!

Last night we had a big pot of Cinncinnati Chili. I put the leftovers, along with the spaghetti in a bowl on the counter alongside a prime rib roast to thaw for Saturday night.
My wife and I headed out to see An American Carol and came home to find the bowl on the floor, licked clean. I guess the kids were too busy to notice the hungry menace circling the kitchen counter like a shark, poised to take it's victim.
During the movie, Jeannie and I were suffering some pretty heinous gas pains, but the theater was empty, so crop dusting was in order.
Now Lena my dog is a Lab. Labs get gas from just looking at food.
She sleeps with my son, who has a very sensitive nose and sleeps lightly. Any minute now he's gonna wake up screaming "Lena, you stinky dog, get out"!
What lesson is learned here?
Well that would be that Labs prefer leftover chili to a 7 lb prime rib of course!
Labs fart....alot.
Now, to the more pressing issue. How was the movie? I was gonna take Mrs. B last night, until she walked in the door from work. I told her I wasn't taking her anywhere with THAT attitude.
Was it as funny as they say it is?

I'd be upset about the chili. Dog's will be dogs though.
Don't let the global warming folks hear about lab farts.

Great movie. The lefties are gonna whine about this big time, BUT- that would take media coverage, which of course means publicity, soooo it probably won't make a ripple.
Farley is hilarious, as is Grammar and Nielson. The boobs playing the jihadists are a hoot.
I found the movie to be Freedom 101 for the masses that have been lulled into the ideas that America is a bad place. The college scenes are so perfect.

While I know nothing about labs eating chili, I do know that I now want to see this movie.

so far no one has conflated 'liberal' with 'leftist' or 'socialist'.
if that's evidence of intellectual precision, kudos.
if it's mere coincidence, i'm not shocked.
the double think that allows some to proclaim the biggest socialist thefts in history as 'conservative' merely because of party affiliations...
and insult 'liberals' who despise ALL restrictions on personal freedoms (especially the freedom to spend their own money)..
is not only self destructive incoherent illogical posturing, but in fact much of the foundation of the problem.
It's not a football game, it's not a scoreboard, we're not on opposing teams..
I want freedom and liberty and don't intend to pay for tyranny.
Tired of being stolen from? Stop exposing your money to thieves.
Some rob you with a six gun and some with a fountain pen..
and a helluva lot of those latter claim to be conservatives, and equally many claim to be liberals.
what they ARE is, thieves and liars. Elected thieves and liars..
Duke Cunningham and Freezerman Jefferson are more alike than different.
Wonder when Americans will notice, and start giving a ****? Us liberals already got the drift..
Well mitch, my take on the whole "liberal" thing is there aren't hardly a handful today what know the real meaning of the term "liberal" as it once was defined.
Ugly as it may be to you, the majority of the world equates leftist, socialist, and liberal. By today's vernacular, your belief system would be branded libertarian.
Right or wrong....there it be.

Glockerel - you should work on your animals dicipline if you are so inclined.
My animals (on the 3rd GSD) all know "my" food is off limits. I can lay my dinner plate in the floor next to them and they won't touch it.
Being the alpha over food is the ultimate dominance in your establishment of being the pack leader.
Funny story though

Yes sir.

Yes sir.
Don't be callin' me "sir", Mister.
The glarin' eyes weren't upon you.
This place was opened to escape such things.
I don't mind light politics, but it's no secret where I stand.
Keep your bashing of the current administration out of here.
This place is for fun, and only gets serious if the real enemies take "power".
I hope to never let it get that serious.

Anything but "sir" or "mister", is acceptable.
The ****in' Russians have driven me crazy with the "Mister" and "Sir" all ****in' day.
Fortunately, our interpreter has spent time in Alaska, and she is able to explain that no such titles need apply...
...you ****-face douche-bags.

True. But it's their nature.
You can't train a spider to make friends with a fly. Such a thing is beyond their comprehension. To many, they're both just bugs, regardless of whether they label themselves predator or prey.

There's a young kid (maybe 24?) that shoots at our range. He's a Duke Med School student. Every time I tell him to load and make ready, it's thank you sir. Every time I ask him if the shooter is ready, it's yes sir. Every time I say unload and show clear, you guessed it. I have asked that he take it easy on the sir stuff, but it's in his upbringing.
Same thing happens with former and current military and police.
Makes me wanna short beep them and get them a little pissed.

I'm sorry, but a spider is actually an arachnid.

Arachnid, insect, or whatever, they're still bugs.
