Ok, So I was thinking that you could change the barrel in a G31 to like a G17 barrel and shoot 9mm. Now I am thinking that it won't work, due to differences in the info I am getting. I know for sure that you can use a G22 barrel and shoot .40.
So clear it up for me....
Thanks.
For cheap practice you can purchase an aftermarket .40 caliber to 9mm conversion barrel.

i have not done this yet nor am i qualified to answer this question being a newbie myself but have done alot of research on i have a g31. from what i found it is best to get a conversion barrel not a stock barrel something from lonewolf or another brand. second to swith to a 9mm use a factory glock 17 mag. they also recommend you change the ejector. again just what i have found through my research but have no experience doing so.

Well I figured you had to change the ejector, Seems like I have been told that the barrel will not lock fully when in battery. Which I believe is wrong but again, I am not sure when it comes to the .357 sig platform.
I figured I would need a barrel from LWD or some sort of aftermarket, then G17 mags, and the ejector from a G17, G19 etc. I am curious to know if anyone has done that?
Thanks again
Try it with the conversion barrel and G17 mags first, most folks around here have reported that it works fine.
If you have too many failures to extract or eject, maybe an extractor or ejector would be needed.

All I've had to do was out in the conversion barrels and use 9mm mags. I have used them both on a 31/22 and a 23/32.

I will try a conversion barrel and a G17 mag and see what that does.
Thanks guys.
Been shooting 9mm in my G31 for yeaars.
No problems.
Barrel and mag change ONLY.
