Many know I'm a big Georgia-Arms fan but I wanted to try Proload's .357 as it has a great reputation for quality. I placed my order for (5) 20 round boxes on July 1st and I will say their site is easy to navigate though. Well, around the 13th I was balancing my checking account and I noticed that Proload still had not billed my account for the order, so I called to make sure everything was okay with the order. The gentleman I spoke with told me that a big distributor had bought them out of .357 and they were producing more as we speak, and would be filling the backorders shortly, he looked up my order and told me that he would put me at the top of the list for the order to be filled. I was rather pleased with that as I did not expect it, but on the 22nd I looked at my account and still I had not been billed. Again I call and I hear the same thing, large distributor... making more as we speak... etc... I asked when can I expect my order to ship, he told me I was 10th on the list and more than likely it would be within 48 hours. Well, here we are on 7-31 and still nothing, nor has my account been billed. When I call today if my order is not sitting on the ready to ship desk I'm going to cancel it. If I'm at the top of the list waiting a whole month for my ammo is absolutely ridiculous. I think I'll be sticking with Georgia-Arms for my ammo needs. :(
I ordered 357 sig from Pro Load last week. I called to confirm my order yesterday. The man who answered asked what caliber then said it would ship in a day or so. He did not ask my name but told me they usually have 357 sig in stock but they just had a large LE order. hmmm

I called Proload yesterday and again I got the we'll be filling backorders soon routine, so I canceled it. Then I called Georgia-Arms ordered 100 rounds of power plus sig, some 357 mag, and some 9x18 and still paid less for the ammo than the 100 rounds of sig from Proload, plus they promised to get my order out by the end of the day!
1iron, if you go though with your order from Proload would you reply back with when you actually got your ammo. I'm curious if they will actually ship by end of summer.

Big Bad 45 Wolf,
Sorry to hear about your problem with Proload. Have you ever considered reloading?

As of right now reloading is out of the question. My job has me traveling from Austin to Portland 3 weeks a month. This will be over by Sept/Oct and maybe when Hilton stops this how will we screw Wolf this week by sending him to yuppie tree land, I'll look into reloading. I'm just not going to front all the money for equipment when my mailing address is Delta Airlines Attn: Big Bad .45 Wolf.
I wasn't surprised to read the follow-up post about the large LE order. I had a feeling that might be the case. Seems things in the 357 Sig realm have generally slowed down; I ordered a drop in barrel from Sig for my .40 P239 and was told it would take a while longer than usual for the same reason.
Regards,
Jon
P.S. - You know, actually, this might be a plug for ProLoad - if law enforcement is using them AND they didn't bill you before they shipped, I'd say that might actually be in their favor.

NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wolf,
ryucasta is right, once you stop traveling, reloading is the way to go. I can reload .357 Sig w/124 gr. Berry's TCJ bullets for $3.74 per 50. This is much better than $8-13 per 50, you will pay for loaded ammo.

Why?
Ammo has arrived. It is hot with low flash. I dig it.
Call John at ProLoad.
He has made things right for me.
