Hey all,
I just finished watching the debate. I thought McCain did well, but didn't do any real damage to Hussein. I started thinking a bit about the format of the debate and what it was supposed to be like. These Town Hall style debates often get questions that are out of the ordinary but interesting. It was also supposed to be a debate about Domestic Issues.
OK, Domestic Issues, this is where I thought McCain could make his biggest points and hurt Hussein the most. There are LOTS of fertile ground in Hussein's past that are ripe for the taking. Knowing what tonight was "supposed" to be, McCain said he was going to take the gloves off and start hitting Hussein HARD on his connections and "friends" in Chicago. He even bragged about it in one of his campaign stops in New Mexico the other day. So the stage is set. Tonight is probably his last shot at making any real gains.
Moderating the debate is good ole Tom Brokaw. There is no question at all how he leans, he's a LIBERAL democRAT, maybe worse than that. It's not too hard to see how his network has handled the candidacy of Hussein, they are openly rooting for him. Ray Charles could see it.
Brokaw said no one knew the questions but him, HE picked them. As you now know there wasn't a single question asked about their domestic policies, beliefs, abortion, guns, and so on. None of them were asked. You know there had to be SOME in the group of 88 that had those questions, but they were never selected to ask them. That left McCain no chance at all to get at Hussein about his radical, America Hating buddies or his EXTREME LEFTIST policy thoughts.
Do you think it's possible that Brokaw knowingly kept questions like that out? He knew if he asked one McCain was going to come after him and the American people wouldn't like his answers.
I'm not saying he did or didn't, but it was kinda strange that not a single question came out tonight about the stuff that could really do some damage to him.
Your Thoughts?
