CJ, not sure if you would want to relocate for about 36,000 per year.....I just hired one new full timer, he is leaving for the academy December 12th....If your serious, send me your resume' and I will keep it here, and spread it around... But, damn...its cold up here in God's country!! LOL PS, just had one of my night shift officers- disarmed- his glock 21 was removed from his holster by the offender in a struggle, the BG's uncle got the gun and handed it back to other officers coming on scene... Things are not the same anymore...even in my little neck of the woods... What kind of holster was the officer using, just out of curiousity? I am looking for an LE job, but I don't know how I'd end up up there, lol. Still just waiting to see where LB ends up going to grad school at, and then where it goes from there. As to the cold, well, I'm a 2-time heat casualty. I deal MUCH better with the cold than the heat, lol. And $36K/yr is about $7K/yr better than LMPD here starts at. Other local agencies start at better, but you generally have to be a lateral with 5 years or more on at another agency to even be competitive. What's the cost of living like up there? Wow :hugs:  Prayers to y'all -- that has got to be extremely stressful even though it turned out ok. CJStudent 10-31-2008, 15:38 Just for the record, Chief, I was just teasing at first, but now I'm intrigued, lol. WPD80 11-03-2008, 11:26 Just for the record, Chief, I was just teasing at first, but now I'm intrigued, lol. No sweat CJ.....Cost of living is kinda high here.....Homes are in the 90's or above.....You can rent here for about 600.00 per month for a home, apartments are limited....they can be had for around 450.00 or so.....Gas is 2.49 per gallon here....Everyone here uses the infamous WAL-MART for food and such. We have our own grocery store here, however the prices are a little higher...My officers all are married, this provides them a second income...Hell, my wife works also....She works at the nursing home here in Walnut. 36,000 is a good start here...you do get a 1600.00 christmas bounus and 500 for uniforms a year.....There is NO overtime right now.....Just comp time....You also get REALLY GOOD insurance here...Cost is 75.00 per month for an officer and his family.... Tom:supergrin: That's not a bad deal at all. Actually lower rent/house prices than here. :wow: Houses used to be around that range, but now are well up over $120,000+ for a basic ranch-type house, not even in that great of shape. I thought I posted in this one earlier. I'm kind of like CJ, doing good to keep up with some of the other stuff.:embarassed: Heck the housing market sounds a little bit better than here.
