If a manufacturer builds a regular production model in a one-off caliber, does that in itself make it rare?
I have a NIB Browning A-Bolt Mountain Ti in .243 WSSM. Browning never actively marketed this model in this caliber and this rifle might, in fact, be some sort of prototype built for the Shot Show. At most, it was an extremely limited production run.
Is this thing in any wise collectible? Is it likely to appreciate in value more than any other regular A-bolt? I ask because I'm having a hard time convincing myself to shoot the thing. I've only got a grand in mine and the MSRP on the Mountain Ti's already is up to $1700.
And no niggles about the cartridge, if you please. I got the short magnum because I wanted it (and I reload).
