Need some tech advice, I have a 9mm FN BHP I bought used in 1969 for $90.00. Have been having some trouble with it lately with spent shells hanging partially in the breech after firing about six rounds from the mag. I'm thinking it may be the extractor and/or spring. When I drop the mag and extract the shell and resume firing I have no further problems from the mag. This happens with more than one mag. Any thought from you folks? Thanks.

I would replace the recoil spring with an 18.5lb spring, the slide might be not moving at the correct speed to function properly. It sounds like the extractor is catching the round properly.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll order one from Wolff in the morning.

Put a new recoil spring in that old Browning and it runs great. Thanks for the advice.

Did you check the extractor? Some times they break off all or part of the hook.
