I am thinking about getting an iPod Nano (4th generation) but first I need to know if there are any linux apps that can connect and transfer movies and mp3s to it so that the iPod will play it? I run Ubuntu 8.04.
Alternatively, is there an official iTunes for linux?
I used to have an old iPod shuffle which I could connect and use Rythm Box to transfer mp3s to the shuffle just fine.

The old Ipods worked awesome, unfortunately the newer ones require a fair amount of hoop jumping, and even then may not work.

Here's a good list of stuff that is known to work under Linux.

Thats actually really good advice if you're a Linux user.. I just wish they had a model that was 80gig.
