A friend of mine who relocated to Phoenix, AZ is considering a handgun purchase. Can anyone recommend any good shops and ranges he should patronize? Thanks.

Lone Wolf Trading Co., best price in town for a Glock. Bought both of mine there.

Shouldn't really matter. Once he's in the Phoenix area, he's going to be driving everywhere, all the time, anyway.

I had good luck with Lone Wolf too. Here's their site:

It matters to me.

Lone Wolf does have great prices - especially on Glocks. However, I wouldn't drive to LW if I lived in Casa Grande to save $20 over the local GS.

Do you realize how large the Phoenix Metropolitan area is? 1,340 km2! Much larger area than Los Angeles or New York! He will want to stick to his side of town. There are pretty good gun stores in both the West East and Central valleys.

+1 for Caswells. Scottsdale Gun Club is pretty cool, but they are over priced from what I have seen.

I do all my gunstore shopping on the phone, then go to a specific dealer for a specific deal. I don't think it's a big deal to drive 45 minutes to make a once-a-year purchase, but maybe that's just me.

While I haven't bought a gun from AZ Shooters World, I have bought a couple of holsters there. Appears to be a nice indoor setup. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Actually, one staffer didn't know the answer to a question, but......get this......actually admitted she didn't know, but went to find out!!! In this day in age, most gun store commandos will just make up an answer as to appear that they know everything.
