Hand gun deer hunting in Ga.

Have the laws changed? Last year a hand gun had to provide at least 500 ft.lbs. of energy at 100 yards to be legal.
Yesterday, I was told that ANY centerfire hand gun was legal, with no requirements at all. Sounds like B/S to me. Guess I'll break out the old Beretta 950 SB for some humane 100 yard kills! Please say it isn't so!

I'm afraid it's so. I haven't read the new regs myself, but a couple of people who hunt with handguns gave me the same information out at out local range. I don't hunt with handguns, but would hesitate to hunt deer with my G17.
